I'm more of a football-centric RU sports fan... but I hear Pike is doing a good job of improving our basketball. How is the basketball team looking this year?

Like.. how is the roster and what are the expectations? Any chance of getting into being a middle-of-the-pack or better B1G basketball team?

We are a cautious bunch over here (after decades of futility), but we are in very good hands with Pike and his coaching staff. This I know.

Check out the team on BTN on Friday vs a good St. John's. We will all know a great deal after this game.

Consensus is that we’re still a bottom level team, but trending up. Team has looked good so far. But as noted above, St. John’s will be a good litmus test

Definitely one of our more important early season games (especially at G3) that I can recall in a long time, but we can't afford to get too high if we win (or too low if God forbid we lose). Going to be some tough sledding this year with the schedule.

Expectations before the season were generally in the range of 10 to 15 wins total, with an "average" across the fanbase of a record of about 13-17.

But after the first two games, in which we scored 90+ points in both games, and shot >50% from 3-pt. range in both games, people are cautiously increasing expectations because of the team's newfound offensive acumen. Although it's only two games against mid-major competition, it's really quite an amazing turnaround that the team APPEARS to have made on the offensive end.

The team is REALLY easy to root for and REALLY exciting to watch.

Nailed it. Rutgers football is depressing. Rutg rs basketball is a breathe of fresh air. We have 6 players who didn't play last season. Kiss Carter Myles Harper Mathis and McConell. This team was among the very worst shooting teams in the country last year and had an offense that was tough to watch. This year so far the ball movement and 3 point shooting has been amazing. Jump on the bandwagon!
