LOL... @RUPete is a regularDon’t play semantics Pete. I’m talking about you not posting on this messageboard for many years, then acting like you’ve been posting all along. That’s why I’m calling this out. Did you really think we wouldn’t notice? Come on.
Everyone gets the opportunity to be called out. It’s only fair.
C’mon man. We have been over the expansion dynamics a million times. It’s easy to understand the “hate” given what he proposed. And he wasn’t exactly cordial in his responses - if it’s even him.Al said he would like to see Syracuse and UConn in the B1G. That is his opinion. Period.
He did not say it is likely or even possible.
I just don't get the hate.
These schools are our real rivals. No one else comes close.
No other schools create as much haterade as Syracuse and UConn. Both deserve to be with us in the Big Ten and location is the only reason why they are not. No other schools stir up the venom like these two schools, which generate more hate than any others. I enjoyed being taunted by UConn fans, as I walked down the runway. Our wins over them in 2006 and 2009 were amazing. For the 2009 game, an ESPN guy gave me front row seats. I was the only one in red, in a sea of blue. So I heard it ALL GAME. I enjoyed taunting them after the game.
- PSU, OSU, and UM don’t take us seriously for good reason. We show up, and they beat our @ss.
- We beat Indiana’s @ss, so we can’t take them seriously
- Maryland only cares about when basketball season starts
- MSU and other Big Ten schools are too far away to be rivals with
No other schools have that much “love” for us. Big Ten Fans are so polite to us. It’s boring.
I would like to see Syracuse and UConn as part of the next Big Ten Class of entrants.

UConn has two elite basketball programs which have won national championships but they aren't getting a B1G Ten invite.Al,
You're right about them being our rivals (or what would have passed for rivals during our Big East years).
You're wrong about either school deserving an invite to the Big 10. What do they bring to the table?
Syracuse is a private school, not AAU, doesn't fit the profile at all. Might have helped the BTN 10 years ago.
Connecticut fits the profile of flagship state school, AAU, but doesn't move the needle anywhere else.
It will never happen
yeah sure. Let's just judge the validity of a guy with nearly 39,000 posts by the one he most recently posted. Let's not consider the quality of any of the prior 38,888 or the main board stuff , or the trips to other forums, or the videos he is now recording and publishing. You can't possibly be that shallow can you?Al said he would like to see Syracuse and UConn in the B1G. That is his opinion. Period.

And are ass at every other sport.UConn has two elite basketball programs which have won national championships but they aren't getting a B1G Ten invite.
Your posts keep getting dumber and dumber and dumber. I really hope you have been drinking. These schools are our real rivals. No one else comes close.

The RU baseball team would disagree. Plus they have hockey, a sport RU will never see on it's roster. And are ass at every other sport.
It’s not stupid if you actually travel to away football games.Because its a stupid idea in any world
It benefits us to have local rivalries. Were all going to make a lot of money, no matter whom we add because there are synergies with the teams already in the conference.Bigger picture, this isn't the College Football of yesteryear. This is a professional sports league. Rivalries with other folks in your neighborhood is a thing of the past. That's not coming back unless someone can figure out how to get the genie back in the bottle and the money OUT of the game. So far, no one has put up any worthy ideas as to how to get that done.
So, for now, let's focus on which assets will benefit the league and, by extension us, the most.
And maybe they'd be not on the verge of dropping down to FCS had they put that hockey money into football. The RU baseball team would disagree. Plus they have hockey, a sport RU will never see on it's roster.
It’s moved on to sad now IMO.Worst thread ever
Sorry, Pete, if I erred. But I honestly haven’t noticed anything posted from you in a long, long time.Seriously man. He claims I haven’t posted here in years. Even the posters I annoy wouldn’t claim that. I think someone hacked Al. This thread doesn’t fit with what he’s been posting lately.
I have no issue playing Cuse or Connie...as long as they're in a worse conference than us and we Big Brother both of them.I can’t believe the OP is being serious. This is the height of delusion.
Not true. Syracuse itself brings 1M people and 400K households to the table in the Syracuse DMA, plus they have a significant presence in NYC. I’ve never met a non alum who roots for Rutgers in NYC, but there are plenty of non-alums who root for Syracuse in NYC. UConn brings the wealthy state of Connecticut to the table.
They will have a business case when the next expansion occurs.
I won’t take that as an insult as I have tried to ignore your many nonsensical posts over time.Sorry, Pete, if I erred. But I honestly haven’t noticed anything posted from you in a long, long time.

Bought game only.I have no issue playing Cuse or Connie...as long as they're in a worse conference than us and we Big Brother both of them.
Lol barely. They went 3-9 with a schedule that many MAC teams would've found enough wins to go bowling with last year.Nope. It all comes down to eyeballs and TV markets - MONEY - and UConn doesn't a chance. And do they even have a football program?
I'd rather watch SU or UConn sometimes instead of Wagner
Heck I would rather watch Morgan St or Norfolk than Wagner
Wagner is like the ugliest hogger in the bar at closing time
Penn State is the premier Northeast program. This is let’s add two rivals. What you and others don’t understand is football programs are built on rivalries. Alabama is Alabama thx to it rivalry with Auburn. Ohio State has a rivalry with Michigan. Miami has a rivalry with FSU. We have zero rivalries in the Big Ten.I read the OP as “let’s add two more northeast programs so we aren’t the premier northeast program”
Just incredibly stupid on every level.
why not. It continues to work in this thread...Penn State is the premier Northeast program. This is let’s add two rivals. What you and others don’t understand is football programs are built on rivalries. Alabama is Alabama thx to it rivalry with Auburn. Ohio State has a rivalry with Michigan. Miami has a rivalry with FSU. We have zero rivalries in the Big
And that's how we like it. We're not helping rivals. They sure as hell wouldn't help us if the roles were reversed.Penn State is the premier Northeast program. This is let’s add two rivals. What you and others don’t understand is football programs are built on rivalries. Alabama is Alabama thx to it rivalry with Auburn. Ohio State has a rivalry with Michigan. Miami has a rivalry with FSU. We have zero rivalries in the Big Ten.
who cares...we didnt join the big 10 to play stinkass school we played in the big eastIt’s not stupid if you actually travel to away football games.
I consider Penn State the Midwest, but sure even if you count them then you’re introducing more competition regardless. It’s dumb.Penn State is the premier Northeast program.
They won’t jump ahead of the aforementioned but they bring value to us as rivals. If UConns Flagship was in Stamford and not Storrs, they would have been much more attractive, being part of the NYC DMA. But geography is a constraint for them. Connecticut is one of America’s richest states.
