...and not be fired right after the game, is it possible he returns for 2020? Pay him now or pay him later but he’s gonna get paid. So fire him now and let the fan base exhale with at least some hope of better days to come with a new HC.
Ohio State might beat Nebraska by 100I think Ohio State can easily beat us by 100.
I can't see the point in firing Ash unless by some miracle Schiano is hired to replace him. It seems to me that no one can turn this thing around in mid-season -- the fundamental problem is the team's play, not scheme -- and that we'd have a lot more candidates to choose from when the year is over. After all, almost all good candidates have other jobs and won't walk out in mid-year. Schiano, being unemployed, might be available right now (although I doubt it.)
It has nothing to do with "turning things around" right now.......... Firing and Hiring are two different things..........
I'm trying to figure out where you're coming from . . are you advocating firing Ash now and letting an interim serve on coach for the rest of the year? If so, who do you suggest? It's not as though our coordinators are doing a bang-up job.
It's about firing him so an open coaching search can begin. You promote an interim coach from the staff don't care who, no matter what this team is dead in the water and fire them all at the end of the season. You can start looking at coaches sitting on their asses, have those interviews out of the way. And start contacting agents if neccessary to see if their clients have any interests.I can't see the point in firing Ash unless by some miracle Schiano is hired to replace him. What’s Norries up to these days?
Reasonable scenario. Schiano would have the rest of the year to evaluate the players and coaching staff, with the ability to start fresh next year.I can't see the point in firing Ash unless by some miracle Schiano is hired to replace him. It's not a good idea to let a lame duck coach flap in the wind while going behind his back to find a suitable replacement. With the new signing date of Dec. 18th it's imperative to have a new coach ready to go as soon as the season ends.
