If GS and Fleck are off the table

Moglia is the Chairman of TD Ameritrade which is 39% owned by TD Bank. TD Bank owns the old Commerce Bank which they bought for 8.5 billion in a deal led by Norcross. The deal was 75% stock.

I am starting to worry we will be stuck with a leftover. Will take someone who we didn't really want just to fill the position. I'm not saying we should have kept Flood but was it possible to have someone lined up before we made the move ?

The Moglia people are out of their minds

I feel the same about Golden / Christobol. Why hire a failure? Better off trying someone with success.

Just don't get moglia. An older coach from Coastal Carolina with no Power 5 resume.

Give me Cristobal. Younger. Has head coaching experience and while the record wasn't good keep in mind it was FIU and now has spent a few years at the dominant program in the land under a hall of fame coach.

Cristobol failed to get much done at FIU. He's a position coach - not even a coordinator. How did that work our last time?

If you want to set program backwards go with moglia. I don't understand why you would even mention a 67 yr old coach. I don't care how great he is he would still need a 5yr cycle to institute his game plan and team. 72yrs old. Some if you guys have the common sense of a gnat

What you should care about is if he can get good coordinators - that's the concern. I would assume his price would be low with a solid contracted stadd budget to go higher good coordinators.

Moglia? Moglia? Are you kidding me? How about George Norcross? Moglia? MOGLIA? WTF? What?????!!!??????????!

At least your thinking outside the box.

Also another shout out to my guy Dave Aranda.

Great coach. I am not convinced he wants to be a head coach though. I think he likes being a coordinator, actually designing plays and coaching the players. He really dislikes dealing with the media. I suspect he is an assistant in the NFL in a few years.

In 2007, when Commerce was sold to TD Bank, Norcross - whose combined holdings with wife, Sandy, and their two children represented the second-largest stake at Commerce - got $28.2 million in cash and TD stock valued at $69 million, according to an NJBIZ report.

Norcross' business story began when Rutgers University asked him to leave after his freshman year on the Camden campus.

Hobbs reiterated again that finances are not an issue. We'll see...
Which means Moglia is the leading candidate.
The only question is: will Joe be willing to pay his own salary .
That would be the only way finances won't be an issue when Barchi OKs the salary it takes to hire Flood's replacement.

Lol. If Maryland hires Richt, we are f*cked.

Meyer
Harbaugh
Dantonio
RIcht
Moglia

Hahaha. Just turn the tickets in. Unfotunately, if you fill that blank with Golden or Cristobol it looks just as ridiculous.

OMG...Moglia. That is a joke and a half.

never heard of the guy 6 month ago -- since then, I've seen his name constantly.

I've come to realize - he is the most overrated name out there.......

That's possible, I've said he's a soft spoken guy but you know David Shaw at Stanford is too and that's kind of who he reminds me of. He did interview for a GB Packer position coach a couple years ago but has said he's not actively looking to leave. He didn't get it but it's possible. He's not rah rah and I can't tell you he'll be a great recruiter but I like that he's able to get things done with lesser players, good schemes and player development so he doesn't have to be the best of recruiters. His players all love him too and that's without all the rah rah.

If we really have 5-6M budget I'd love to make a run at him for DC if not HC. If it's a guy like Cristobal we hire, 2M for him 900K-1M for an Aranda, 500K for an OC and 2.6M for the rest of the staff. That gets you to 6M total. Aranda makes about 500K at Wisconsin.

Here's a BTN film session with Dinardo about him explaining some of his schemes.

Is that official yet? So many things seem official these days like Herman to UGA, Durkin to Maryland only to be walked back later.

Also another shout out to my guy Dave Aranda.
I like Aranda. Surprised he hasn't gotten more consideration.

Well he's not the big rah rah type with an outsized personality so I can sort of get it, but I'm looking for competence as much as anything else and he's definitely got that. I can't tell you he'll be a great recruiter but he gets it done with who he does recruit and that's really the bottom line. Recruiting is just a means to an end and if you can perform with whatever your recruiting rankings are that's all that matters. And as I've said repeatedly in other posts, no matter who our HC is it's very unlikely he's going to out recruit the top competitors in our conference it has to be done on the back of coaching acumen.

If we really have a 5-6M budget like I broke down in the post above, I'd love to make a run at him for DC if not HC. If you're gonna hire a CEO coach like Cristobal or whomever pay him 2M and a 1M to Aranda and 500K for OC. Spread OCs, hopefully the new coach would run that, are a little more ubiquitous than quality DCs so I think that's solid salary. Ideally though he's my top choice for HC.

If everyone is talking about the 67 year old being out of the box, how about June Jones... Yes this is halfway sarcasm and don't think he's the answer. But he's actually still better than Golden and Cristobal, lol.

I'm happy with outside the box, he struggled in American, did ok in Conf USA. Hawaii was a success though.

I still think Babers needs a look before we go here, he said he won't look before his championship game (this Friday 12/4)

Hey I like June Jones and his Run and Shoot. He is a genius with his offense and his QBs/WRs usually do very well in college. If he didn't run the RnS, his name would've popped up here so many times. I could imagine how he would do with QB and WR recruits at Rutgers.

However, I'm back to reality lol. But I would talk to Babers as well if Richt is not possible.

Like Ruhle a ton
------
Record wise he had one good year.... I don't know about his recruiting skills etc, but I think he still is a question mark that is parlaying that one good year beyond what it is worth.... I am of the opinion that Temple plays .500 ball next year with him and the aura is gone for him, were he to remain..

So, he moves now because he has to, and it sounds like he thinks he is too good for RU, which he is not.

Rhule (as opposed to the late Vern Ruhle) has made a point of saying how he's redshirted 18 kids this year (some very promising, talent, too), plus if you follow them closely enough, you'll see that he has done a masterful job mixing in younger guys in with more veteran, departing talent this year. So while they lose Matt Ioannidis, the freakishly athletic Freddie Booth-Lloyd has gotten a lot of game action, so he won't be green next year. And while someone like Tyler Matakevich is not easily replaced, this staff has done a terrific job developing the talent they get, allowing a kid with one FBS offer to become one of the greatest linebackers, statistically speaking, in the history of the game. They're really not going anywhere. Neither, I don't think, is Matt Rhule - at least not this year.

Another article on Aranda. A reference to our game with them too. I read he's not a finalist for the Broyle's award for top assistant. I can't believe that. #1 scoring defense, #3 in total defense, #5 rushing defense, #6 passing defense. What more do you need geez. I read also since his time at Wisconsin he's held 17 opponents to 10 pts or less the most of any team, Alabama was 2nd.
