If Schiano Doesn't Get Miami Job, What Will He Do?

I think he's gotta make a move this year. Next year he'll have been out of coaching for three years and that's an eternity.
Agree if he wants a HC position, but might still have people think that 3 years away hasn't harm,ed his ability to be a successful DC.

Your point is a valid one that could hurt him when he tries for a Pro or P-5 DC position, if no interest because of the 3 years when he looks at HCing positions.

I think he has 1 more year with TB money. If he doesn't get a HC job at the college level, I think he goes for a DC job at the pro level.

if you read the articles he is die-ing to coach. The contract for 3mm never stopped others from getting jobs......more than likely he has been picky .............but what he has wanted has not wanted him

Cant blame him that emotionally he wants to try to do it somewhere other than RU and succeed.....but also agree that with RU making the best offer he should not let emotion get in the way of common sense .

Do it again at RU and the Tampa days disappear.

Many people are worried that he is going to coach at UVA and will steal NJ recruits. However, are there any reports that UVA has interviewed Schiano or that he has emerged as a candidate?

well let's see. Nobody in the past couple of years has reached out and grabbed his rear end and so far this year he may have gone 0-2 at USC/UM?
His name comes up in every search and nothing materializes?
Coaches in every pro sport just seem to bounce from team to team.
And even in my corporate world if you aren't moving up you're moving out. If you are not tapped on the shoulder you are not in demand.

but I guess you're right. The apparent lack of securing a spot or closing a deal means nothing. he wasn't at all interested in coaching again.

Maybe he is just being real picky. maybe.
You're assuming he's been looking.

I have the feeling that GS loses this round of musical coaching chairs and will have the worst week in college football.

Schiano in Missouri? Have you EVER been to that state (especially the entire part of the state aside from St. Louis or KC)?? I have and, well, he'd have to be paid HUGE $$$ to go there IMHO.

I've been to Mizzou. Nice campus, but Columbia is not great, it's not terrible, it's just "there", like the rest of Missouri between the cities. Missouri may be the least identity-distinct state in the country.
