With all these grad transfers and kids at schools whose coach has been fired, if Rutgers can only get one of them, who do you want ?

Massoud. Grad transfers are almost always examples of Shiny New Toy Syndrome. Massoud is a top-150 recruit that we'd get for four years.

However, my actual guess is that both remaining scholarships go to two players whose names have never been posted on this forum.

I know the NCAA has changed things recently. If a coach gets fired, is it pretty much a guarantee that a newly signed recruit can transfer without sittiing out a year ?

Massoud would need to be let out of his LOI with Wake Forest, then he could enroll wherever and play right away.

Aundre Hyatt would need to get a waiver in order to play right after after transferring. The NCAA issued them more often but it's certainly no guarantee he'd get one.

No. It's all conjecture based on the uncertainty of Manning's job status (and his brother committing here for football). I remain bearish on our chances to get him but there's a thread of hope, I guess.

Right, whereas the grad transfers are on the market, though it doesn’t affect whom you’d most want.

Yep. I'm sure Pike is contacting them to gauge interest. He can't legally contact Massoud right now so at least there's no potential of "wasting time" on an option that ultimately might not pan out (ie Massoud stays at WF)

However there is big time potential for wasted time by message board posters (I include myself in this) about the various options.

Send word through his brother to guage interest.

kc,
You are right--normally I spend all of my time ending world hunger, ending all diseases, composing great symphonies, and training for the secret NASA mission to Pluto to ask the people there if they consider themselves a planet or not. lol

This late in the game with a young up an coming roster is tough.

1. I prefer HS kids, but they are almost all accounted for. I'd hate to take a chance now and be wrong and be saddled for 4 years.

2. Unless it is a 5 I really don't want a grad transfer. Chemistry was a huge part of our success this year. It should never be taken for granted.

3. JUCO---would try to avoid at allcosts

4. Transfers. I suppose we could go to well for 3rd year in a row. Not a fan

5. Leave it empty for 2020-2021 class and give spot to Nathan or Downes.

I wouldn't be upset if we ended up doing #5

This is easy

Massoud ...hands down is the number one priority

If we got massoud ...number two would be a big with potential ...willing to redshirt.

Downes is a senior, no?

We have 2 ships. You try to get a legit sit out and a 3/4 who can shoot the 3 imo

Mousoud is a really good player but I’m always reminded that Pike says he wants a player who is “all in” and wants to be at Rutgers 100% with no hesitation. We can only hope that if he gets out if his LOI that he carefully considers RU and convinces staff that he wants to be here!! Otherwise, we just move on!!

This.

I want Massoud as the number 1 priority.

I like the idea of a sit-out transfer at the 4/5 spot, to help replace EO and Carter after next year.

This is what I said...except I’ll take a true frosh instead of a sit out transfer ...have 2 years class separation between Johnson/duke
