I'm all in on Pike and men's hoops.

I’m slightly more optimistic, I have a feeling sanders could be addition by subtraction, although those last three games were so amazing to watch. But I’m hoping for a decent season
Sanders also led us in the Seton Hall win...it ain’t addition. Guys may step up, but the fact is all of our best moments were due in large part to Corey’s scoring last year.

Freeman and Sanders WILL be hard to replace.

But we have who we have this year.
One thing we STILL have is RESPECT, something in short supply in fall sports.
We are respected as a team that plays many games down to the wire
lets see who steps up THIS year

You guys are crazy if you think losing Corey is addition by subtraction. He will be extremely difficult to replace next year. I can see an argument that for the year after next losing Corey is a benefit because it means more playing time for our youth. In NO WAY are we anywhere near better off in 2018 without him.

I agree that losing Corey isn't addition by subtraction... I love Freeman, but I do think losing him could be addition by subtraction...

Real coaching staff and tangible improvement. Football is garbage.
Why do you say that? Pike has never finished above last place, Ash has. Both Pike and Ash have only had recruiting classes ranked near or at the bottom of the conference.

Was just joking. My freshman year John Battle scored 2 points a game, and three years later he is in NBA. How hard does a kid work to get better.
I have always wondered about that. Was Battle not ready to contribute as a Frosh or Soph, or was it that Young didn't play him enough? If the Battle of his Junior year was playing as a Sophomore, that would have made the Hinson/Black team of 83 a Sweet 16 caliber team.

I feel like there are some football fans that are almost bitter at the optimism about Pikiell. We're all Rutgers fans and Ash, whatever his level of responsibility for the same, is currently overseeing a disaster. I think Dave White is correct that we shouldn't use that to put more pressure on Pikiell or the basketball team, but football fans should also not lash out at the basketball team due to the optimism here.

Not bitter at all. I want all RU teams to win. In fact I am more of a Hoops fan, but Pike’s results have been no better than Ash’s. In fact Ash finished ahead of two BIGE teams last year and Pike has never done that.

Big difference between football and basketball right now. Pike has a strong recruiting class coming in and has won B1G tournament games. Even almost beat mighty Purdue. Football has done nothing.

I just don’t see it. Pike has never finished above 14th place and his recruiting classes rank at or near the bottom of the conference. I like him a lot and think he has a chance to succeed, but to date he has not accomplished anything.

Freeman is addition by subtraction. He ruined any offensive flow we couldve established most games last year. Were better off without him as a team

Agreed, its really weird. People who say “why is basketball results different than ash and football” are some of the most clueless blind people of all time

Look at where basketball is from when eddie left to where we are now, it’s exponentially better all around. We took top 10 teams wire to wire. Whereas football is worse since flood left all around and we havent stayed within like 35 points of any ranked teams
