Inside Lacrosse has RU in the NCAAs

ND is still a bubble team. The loser of Cuse/UVA is likely out. ND has to win the ACC to get in. If they do, it would push the winner of Cuse/UVA to the bubble. If they don’t, beating Army won’t help them. Would be interesting if they win ACC and lose to Army. They should be left out in that case but it would be unprecedented for the ACC champ to miss the tourney. I doubt it happenes but would love to see them finally pay for not having an AQ. In the end they are going to struggle to get 3 let alone 4.

Serious question, if we beat OSU, why do WE have to be the team who gets screwed out of the last bid? Seriously? If we beat OSU, we’re a top 8 team and it’s not up for debate

Wish it worked for me. I’m sitting at a sick resort in Sedona. That’s all great. No BTN. Steaming doesn’t work. Called and found a shitty sports bar for tomorrow. Ugh.

The loses to Army an Princeton really hurt us. The only things the committee considers are quality wins an bad losses. Everything else is essentially ignored, including margin of victory. It’s bullshit but that’s the way it is. We need one more top 10 win to offset our 2 bad losses. Otherwise we are right on the bubble with a bunch of other schools. If a bunch of couple of shit teams luck their way into winning their conferences’ AQ and 1 bid leagues turn into 2 bids, the number of at large slots quickly start drying up. It sucks but it is what it is. Bottom line is we still entirely control our own destiny and if we are as good as we think we are it’s time to step up and take it. I firmly believe we can win our next 3 and earn a 4 seed in the tourney. There is no team in the country we are not capable of beating.

I have PlayStation Vue. It’s tits. It has every BTN, ESPN, Fox & CBS sports channel. $40 per month and you can stream it everywhere and it has a cloud based DVR. I have it set so it records every NCAA men’s lacrosse game and I can access from anywhere.

I get it but, Cuse got throttled by Hopkins and we beat Cuse. ND lost to Cuse and Umich, two teams we beat. Plus the B1G owned the ACC. Btw, I’m not debating against you or think you’re wrong. I just don’t get the committee. The RPI is so flawed. I guess losing by double digits to Hopkins and Albany is weighted more than a road win against Lehigh. What a system

Exactly - if we beat a hot osu team it should be more than enough. Let's cut the doom and gloom on here. Expect us to make it and let the boys handle business

O my. Lehigh shoots ball deflected by goalie and almost rolls in but hits post. That's heartbreaking now OT.

We want UVA right. I assume Cuse at 8-6 would have a tough time getting in

We're a really good team - one of the most dangerous in the country. We have the talent to win a national championship. Let's not forget these things

No. Overall record doesn’t matter, only quality wins and bad losses. Cuse will get a ton of credit for their 4 ACC wins. UVA has a better record but fewer quality wins and more bad losses. I think Cuse gets in even if they lose. I don’t think UVA does.

The RPI makes no sense. Cuse is getting way too much credit for playing Albany and Hopkins. They barely even showed up for those games. The ACC is weak. It’s just silly that those wins mean that much. I would love it if RU could get 3 ACC teams on their schedule. The ACC doesn’t want us though. Duke and UVA removed us from their schedule the minute we became above average. It’s bs, because a win against RU doesn’t help their RPI. The whole system is screwy. Wtf does ND & Cuse have to do to drop out of the top 10?

I’m not defending it but it’s not that Cuse is getting credit for playing Albany and Hopkins, it’s that they are not getting punished for getting destroyed. At all. It’s as if those games never happened. Same with us. “Quality” loses are essentially ignored. Doesn’t matter if you lose in 3OT or 19-5, it is not even factored. Same as wins against unranked opponents. Doesn’t matter if you win in OT or 20-0. Wins vs. top ranked opponents and losses against unranked opponents in the end is all they really look at. The bad losses are what killed us last year and what will keep us out this year if we don’t get in. Our resume would be stellar if we had just beaten Army & Princeton.

Totally agree with you. Don’t want you to think I was attacking your comments. It’s crazy how this works. And btw, the more I watch sports, the more I believe too many losses are labeled as “bad losses.” This stuff isn’t played on paper. Records should go out the window more often than not. Think about it. Seton Hall’s loss to us in basketball was a “bad loss” for them. Anyone who knows anything about sports knows you can’t just step on the field/court and just get a win. Upsets happen a lot. If the committee can’t watch the ACC and say “wait a minute, they got their asses kicked by the B1G this year,” then what’s the point?

UVA wins. Everything falling into place for ACC to get 4 bids. Duke is in. ACC champ is definitely in and either way UVA and ND likely punched their tickets by winning today. Cuse should be out but are still on the bubble despite the loss.

What if ND loses out?

ND needs to win another game. Whether that is the next one or Army.

Lehigh winning helps us. Our RPI just got better and Navy is out. No way they make it now. Loyola is in. We don't need Lehigh taking another spot. We got what we needed from them. Now we need them to lose.

It all still gets back to where it was. We need to win tomorrow to play our way in. Leave no doubt.

Here is a very feasible hypothetical. Rutgers and Penn St. make it to the B1G championship game. Then what.

I would like to think our RPI jumps a lot if PSU were to beat Maryland/Hopkins and we gets two more wins. I know we’re dealing with hypotheticals, but you can’t leave us out if we lost to PSU in the B1G championship. The ACC loses a bid. But that’s just me

No, we are in in that scenario. I am more thinking, does the committee really have the balls to put 4 B1G teams in?

Hopkins & UMD are in. If it’s us vs. PSU in the finals and PSU wins, the get the AQ and I can’t see how we get left out with wins over OSU and either UMD/JHU. If we win the AQ, not sure PSU would have the juice to pull an at-large.

One of the announcer's last night scoffed at the idea of the ACC getting 4 in. As the one announcer had just about every team in, the other announcer said, "I see the B1G getting 4 bids before the ACC ever sees a 4th this year".

I just don't get it. I know they schedule tough but at some point you have to win enough. The ACC as a whole simply didn't win enough to warrant 4 bids. Two, maybe and that's a big maybe 3 and even that's only off of reputation. Any other league and it would be maybe two at this point.

This 100%! Syracuse’s uniforms may say Syracuse on the front, but they’re not that good. They would be the 4th maybe 5th best team in the B1G this year

I heard it too. My feeling is the whole world can see the RPI is Fubar. The selection committee has to see that all of ACC wins are against themselves.
