Football INSTANT RECAP: Wisconsin rolls past Rutgers Football 42-7

Buddy its year 2 for KC and year 5 of GS 2.0...we're never gonna click on offense in big ten play

Yup.

My point is if you have a good philosophy and system - it needs time.
Can't expect instant results.
See Wisconsin appearing to turn it around now.

If the philosophy and system is bad - more time isn't going to help (see our current state).

“We’re just not there yet.”

Greggie is the biggest fraud I’ve ever seen.

$4 million + for this??

Over 5 years in and we don’t have Big10 lines on either side of the ball. We lost last week and this week in the trenches. Because we can’t compete with the big boys. Still.

And these are all “his guys”. Can’t blame the prior guy’s recruits anymore.

The offensive play calling is so limited it could be put on a 3/5 card.Rutgers quarterback performance has really regressed in the last two games.Opponents have no fear that Rutgers will complete a pass for more than 10 yards.Rutgers competing against Wisconsin is a good measuring stick as to how far they need to improve to be a above average B1G Ten team.

QB problems aside, Caleb WIlliams would suck in RU's offense.
William's wins Heisman with a two page playbook of pocket change passes?
I've long said I'm tired of players getting all the blame

Longo had a track record of implementing this offense. Gleeson did not. Schiano had the opportunity to bring in longo twice this go around and once the previous.
And yes I know there was interest for longo to be back in jersey.
Thing is I always wonder how much defensive HCs and even OL HCs are comfortable with that type of offense and if they can mesh or there ends up being friction which causes issues.

I was interested to see how Fickell would do with Longo despite the fact that I thought it was a good hire. We’ll see in time.

This kid keeps running right into the pressure. Zero pocket presence, horrible footwork, doesn’t go thru progressions. Time for a change.

Let’s go Mets !

What a disaster today

Refusal to even try Ajani for one series to run wildcat

Ajani should announce transfer tonight

Someone asked if Monangai hits 2k rushing yards… at this rate if he hits 1k will be a miracle

AK just ran out of a perfect pocket for the throw away. I guess some posters think throw away is a completion.

You do know Fickel is a defensive coach?

Greg has to come out and start his press conference by apologizing and showing some sort of embarrassment. People are really starting to see through the BS and interest will falter with results like these.

Greg likes to act like KC is an independent on offensive philosophy but KC has same DNA as Greg and that's why he gets hired.

Greg needs to get OC that's not stuck in the last millennium

I've never understood Schiano's seeming "enchantment" with KC as an OC. The offense is predictable at best, inept at worst.
He fits with Greggie’s approach. Conservative, unimaginative, plays not to lose.

Greggie will never bring a winner here. We’ve seen this movie play out before.

$5.5mm per year for Greggie and Kirk. And this is the product?

Face it, Schiano is a fast talking huckster.

That’s exactly my point. I wanted to see how well their philosophies would mesh.

I won’t say it’s match made in heaven yet. The last two game they look good but before that a bunch of eh. We’ll see in time.

We've talked about it before.

If you are a defensive coach and actually trust your defense, then give the offense a chance to score and be aggressive.

And trust if the defense is put in a bad position, they will overcome the challenge.

Playing conservative offense and giving the defense every possible advantage isn't trusting your defense.
