Got a ton of responses on the New Mexico attendance thread, so figured I'd post another. Please note: this is actual fans in attendance, not the phony number released by RU. Over or under?

I think it will be filled except for the upper corners and the corner near the student section. That's probably 4K so my guess is 48k in attendance

There was a noticeable bump in attendance for NM compared to Howard as would be expected. 12 pm kickoff hurts, and I doubt we are filled out at kickoff, but I think we see a pretty big crowd.

Actually, the corners of the west side upper deck will be filled since those are the visitors' sections, in addition to one section in the lower tier. If it's a nice day and the students turn out in decent numbers, I think we'll get over 50,000, though not at the noon kickoff time.

I think the corners of both sides may be filled with some empty seats in the middle. Seems odd, but with the dynamic pricing the middle sections of the upper deck go for $90 a seat while the corners go for $60. When I was buying tickets on scarletknights.com last week there were more tickets in the middle on both sides then there were in the corners. Maybe the visitor tickets impact that too, I thought it might have just been people wanting to pay $60 vs. $90 a ticket.

At this point in our Big 10 tenure I can't believe this is even a topic.

We should be close to a sellout every single home game especially for Big 10 opponents.

You have to be competitive. I pointed this out when Flood was tearing down the program one beam at a time - men's hoops played in one of the best conferences in the country. People will get tired quickly of watching a non-competitive game in person. Throw in arrests, the HC being a dunce, AD being even dumber and you get our current attendance concerns.

I would expect a good number of Hawkeye fans to be there, although the number may be smaller than it was going to be due to last week's crapping of the bed.

When the season started, I thought there would be 50,000+ in the stands for the Iowa game. However, due to the noon kickoff combined with RU's ho-hum play in its first three games, I seriously doubt there will be more than 43K in the stands. (I'm guessing the "announced/tickets distributed" figure will be 48,286.)

Given the performance so far, it might take a win against Iowa before the attendance picks back up. It's easier to stomach a blowout loss on TV then the commitment it takes to make it to the game.

lol we are in Year 3 of our "tenure" for crying out loud. Year 1 we went to a crap bowl game in Detroit and Year 2 was a calamity all-around, yet for some reason people are expecting 50,000+/game this year? Not a chance IMHO.

no excuse really...we are actually getting less going to games than when we were in the Big East...at least this year so far and I m going by actual numbers not announced....and that pipe dream of selling out season tix...not going to happen...

Disagree. My crew has been as loyal as it gets yet went from 26 tix just 4 years ago down to 14 this season. The other 12 got so dismayed during the Fudd "era" that they dropped. They will, however, be back soon enough. I alsodusa with your comment about selling out season tix. It CAN happen and IMHO will if Ash turns this around.

Remember: most never expected - and would have laughed at anyone telling then so - 30,000 or so season tix when we were below 10,000.

fact is it make a take aloooooooooong time if ever that we are pulling seasons better than 8-4 in this league, will that be enough for sellouts...I am skeptical

I do know this, looks like dynamic pricing is going to be way down this and next year

Exactly year 3. Yet, it's been known for 5 years we were going into the Big 10 conference. No excuse

Get back to winning games, go to a decent bowl game, avoid off-field embarrassments like coach flood, and attendance will get to where it should be

Flying into a major east coast hub (Newark/Philly) ain't cheap or close by for any of the B1G West schools. It's different than flying into Chicago or Detroit. Now throw in the cost of a hotel and we're talking about spending a lot of cash. I think that keeps the numbers down due to the cost.

I might have misunderstood your post, but are you saying there are about 30,000 RU season ticket holders?

Like Hurricane Sandy, it will take a few years to rebuild after the Flood.

Not seeing much buzz about this game on secondary ticket markets and it looks like plenty of good seats are still available from RU. Assuming that half of the normal student attendance doesn't show, I'm going with under 35K actually in their seats.

Attendance for the Iowa game will largely be determined by student turnout.Attendance could be as low as 38,000 and as high as 46,000.

Iowa has a very large alumni base on the east coast.

Will not be surprised to see 10-15,000 Iowa fans tomorrow. Maybe more of not for the loss last week

We got in last night and have run into them all over NYC

Iowa travels really well.
