Iowa has a very large alumni base on the east coast.

Will not be surprised to see 10-15,000 Iowa fans tomorrow. Maybe more of not for the loss last week

We got in last night and have run into them all over NYC

Iowa travels really well.

I'll take the under, way under

Penn State said the same thing and it's an easy road trip, but it didn't happen. Michigan said the same thing and it didn't happen. Nebraska had the largest group of fans show up and it was far less than 10-15K. It was somewhere around 6-7K if I recall correctly. If it's to happen (10-15K) Iowa will have to buy a ton of tickets on the secondary market. Most of the tickets are spoken for through season ticket holders and students. If I had to guess at best I would put it at 7-8K, but consider what happened last week and the lack of respect for Rutgers it should fall in line with the rest of the B1G when visiting Rutgers.

No matter what phony number RU releases, "under" is officially the correct answer. I don't know if a Big Ten stadium has ever been so empty at kickoff. This is an embarrassment to the university and the worst part is that this game is nationally televised on ESPN2.

Well if RU can't draw fans for a Big Ten home game when the team has a winning record you might as well try another stadium.

Nuts, there are no more than 1,000 Iowa fans here. Thanks for giving me a hard time when I said there would be 3,500 when everyone was saying over 5,000. Complete BS

Crowd size looks fairly impressive now on tv....especially compared to other non Rutgers games I normally see on tv with unbranded opponents.

Crowd is fine. We'll have sell outs when we are a winning team playing a good opponent. You can't expect the cart before the horse unless you're a storied program or the only game in town (Nebraska, Oklahoma, Penn State, ....)

Many Rutgers fans and NJ residents have never heard of Iowa and don't realize it is a state or a large public university. Rutgers fans will attend games when they have heard of the other team.

RU just announced attendance as 44,061. As an Iowa beat writer points out, that number is a joke.

That's not true. Most were wearing black and were not clustered, mostly spread out and that blended in with the Rutgers fans.

I'd say 6-8k Iowa easily.

I will add that you could tell much easier in the 4th quarter when huge, massive swaths of Rutgers fans bailed out while only down 7 points

On TV didn't look like a big crowd of Iowa fans, but those at the game can say idf Iowa was represented like terrehawk claims or if bac is right.

Id say less than 2k Iowa fans. I was there and I know I'm not far off. Total attendance around 42k

BTW - nearly as man Iowa fans at HPSS as their are Temple fans at The Linc today. Gotta laugh at the thoughts of them EVER being remotely considered for a P5 slot. I mean they had a HUGE season in 2015 - granted not as good as some here and their fans want to think - and still can't draw for shit.

You can tell your 3 friends that they are wrong..1 out of every 5 fans wasnt Iowa given around 42k actual
Agree. When I first got there I thought Iowa had a lot of fans there. Turns out they just all hung out right outside the stadium.

44061 official
And that is the number scanned at turnstyles. I'd buy that.. 10K empty.. 20% seems about right. If you said 40K there I'd believe that also. Even the student section filled out.. as usual, stupidly squeezing in and leaving the corners empty. If you use the 60/60 numbers as a rule of thumb to guage interest.. I'd guess the almost 60K total pot was 2nd or 3rd best.

I was there today, in the upper deck on the visitor's side. We had a decent amount of Iowa fans grouped together higher up behind us, but looking across the field I saw VERY FEW Yellow/Black shirts in the home side upper deck (and not that many on the lower level either). I'm guessing there were no more than 2,000 total.

Iowa had 4-5k there. Probably about 2k in upper deck and 2-3k scattered around lower bowl. Quiet fans.

"Official" according to RU, which routinely fudges attendance figures. See the tweet from the Iowa reporter who confirmed that the number was bogus. Probably closer to 34K actual.

this is false...there were at least 40K in the building, perhaps not 44K at one time but somewhere in between although it very well could have been 44K too
