Is there anything RU can do to have a realistic chance to win next week?

Let me start by saying every week I tune in because I think there is a decent chance rutgers can win. But let's be real- Ohio State is a far superior football team in every way. If they played this game 100 times they would likely win at least 95 of them.

Having said that, what do you think rutgers can do to have a shot to win this game or even keep it a less than 10 point loss?

The worst possible scenario for us occurred tonight. Urban finally got tired of a one dimensional Jones at QB. We will be the first team to get JT full time and that's a scary proposition. I'll be pumped and ready to cheer for the game but no it won't be a 10 point loss.

I think the only thing we can hope for is that they look past us. But even if that happens it's still probably a 14 point loss.

no penalties
no turnovers
get all the DBs back
get Carroo back
Play Defense like we did against MSU
Play Offense like we did against IU
there's always a chance.........................

Maybe we could pay someone to slip megadoses of laxative into their team breakfast.

That's the best I can come up with.

Every game starts evenly. It will be 0-0 at 8 o'clock on Saturday night.

Doubt many people gave us a shot last week against MSU..and not many people are giving us a shot this week. But the team proved today (albeit, not against the competition of OSU) they're never out of a game.

Should be fun next week.

I saw them in the 4th, that's for sure.
Let me ask you this. If, after giving up 52 points to 0-3 Indiana Rutgers has a realistic chance against 3-0 OSU? Do you think RU is much better this year and OSU is much worse than 2014?

Why do you ask? Who cares what anyone thinks. The thing is, there's always a chance. I doubted we had a chance to win today after being down by 25. I doesn't matter.

Fact is our defense has always struggled against spread teams..no clue why. OSU isn't a spread team. Fact is, we usually play tougher opponents tough at night at home.

Again, anything can happen.

Doubt anyone here thinks we have a legitimate chance, but as long as our players do...anything can happen.

52 points and over 630 yards of O almost all in 3 quarters. Be happy that the playcalling, and a couple decisions by Sudfeld, we're really poor in the fourth quarter. Unbelievably happy with the wind, I was going nuts the entire fourth quarter, but let's not just excuse the abysmal performance by our defense tonight.

We always struggle against spread teams. OSU isn't a spread team, so doubt we struggle as much.

Yes, they're much better, and are definitely the most talented team we've ever played. But they haven't passed much all year, they're a running team..lets see what happens.

Rutgers defense has struggled all year. The offense is beginning to gell. But there is a giant difference between Indiana and the defending National Champs

To answer your question rutgers is probably equal to last year and ohio state is probably slightly worse than last year and the game is at home so I would think the line would be slightly less than last year. But who knows how Vegas determines these things but they are often pretty close.

Wasn't Indiana 4-2 with a 7 point to OSU? Did they have a 3 rd string QB agains PSU? Are we only counting B1G games these days? If so, why did I read so much about how good their QB was?

Sorry wrong thread...I was thinking about the betting line thread I made...oops it's late.

So you are calling for Rutgers victory?

If you look at head to head the difference is 7 points. While I don't believe Indiana is really 7 points worse than OSU, I find it funny people use head to head when it fits their narrative.

Where did I compare them??? I never used head to head! I comparing OSU and Rutgers from last season game to thus upcoming game. Where did I bring up Indiana/OSU game....oh wait it wasn't me it was you.

See. It was you that brought up head to head

Our defense played damn good against MSU...again, the games we've struggled the most with were spread teams..Kansas, WSU, Indiana.

OSU is much closer to MSU than any of those 3 teams...

Nobody is expecting us to win...but we aren't out of it a week before the game.

Neither did I. What is your point?
Holy shit. You asked me if "I was calling for a Rutgers' victory" You said the "there is a giant difference between Indiana and the defending Nc's". Isn't that a comparison?

Penn State is a spread team?
Listen I would L.O.V.E Rutgers to win but the question the OP brought up was it "realistic". The answer is no. Can it happen, of course but do you believe in miracles. We all would love to yell YES! But we all know better

This. We have no answer for Barrett.

Geez you are talking about the Indiana game vs OSU. I'm talking is there a difference between OSU and Indiana. I NEVER used the dumb correlation of games played not involving RU. You did.

Where did I say Penn State was a spread team?

No one is saying its "realistic"..it will be the biggest upset of the year if we do it. But it seems like you're counting us out, like lots of people did today against Indiana.

Yea, my bad. I'm a moron for thinking head to head mattered. Hope all the polling committees start to ignore head to head matchups going forward. Just simply stick to history and stadium size. What actually happens on the field is overrated.

You pointed out that Rutgers had there worst games against spread teams. Wasn't Penn State one of the worst defensive games? But you convienently left Penn State off your list.

I think the other 3 were much worse..inferior opponents, at home...(except for today)..

Lots going against Rutgers against PSU...including losing their head coach and off-field turmoil. Not making excuses..just giving reasons I don't think Penn State was one of the top 3.

Holy crap VKJ! Read the last line of your own ducking post. You find it funny to use head to head and 5 post later you say why shouldn't they??? Who is drunk now? You condradict yourself within 10 mins!

A win in my books is for RU to give OSU a scare/stay competitive...anything more is just icing on the cake...

as is always the case, all of our sports and also academics need to continue to step up to squash this annoying reputation we have with the B1G fanbases (RU sucks, NYC doesn't care about RU...etc)

Now I've heard everything. Nearly 500 yards of offense and 31 points says otherwise. Come on now! We have one of the worst defenses in the nation, hands down, let's not make excuses for them anymore. It really doesn't matter what kind of offense is on the other side of the line of scrimmage.

Just enjoy the win, like I still am, yeah baby!

At the start of day...14 hours before kickoff there will be no doubt at the parking lots that there is plenty of Rutgers faithful

I was mocking you. It's called sarcasm....take a deep breath and read the thread from top to bottom.
