There were minutes available once Mag went down but there weren't any before that.
That was mainly due to the roster construct. Hopefully we don’t need any of the starters playing 30+ minutes again this year in every game.

We will never know exactly why we missed the tournament but an untimely injury may have played a role.

The injury couple with the fact that the bench players from the previous year didnt develop into Big 10 players was the reason.
Of course because anyone that talks about the reality of the team in a way you dont like cant be a fan.
Mag's injury was THE main reason we missed the tourny. He was the glue guy, the cog in the machine that we couldn't replace, every good team has an irreplaceable player that can submarine a season. Tell that to UMass, who was 6-1 when theiy lost their starting PG, Noah Fernandes, they finished the season 15-16(6-12 in the A10), only went 1-3 in 4 games after Noah gave it a go before shutting it down for the year. Guess they didn't have a PG to replace him like we didn't have a forward to replace Mag. It happens every year in every sport and a team underperforms after it.
Some Pitchers can look horrible if their favorite catcher gets injured.
QBs can slump and lose for weeks if their top WR goes down.
We were 16-7(8-4) in 2nd place by ourselves, top 20 in NET, Ken Pom, and T-Rank, and went 2-6 to finish the season and 1-1 B1G tournament. We finish the season 4-4 or 5-3 with Mag healthy which would put us at 21-12 or 22-11 into the NCAA tournament. Not saying UMass would have gotten there but they sure would have finished the year with around 20 wins with a healthy Noah in a down year for the A10.

That’d be great and it would mean we found a diamond in the rough. The point still stands though that it’s unlikely we are landing 3 highly sought after transfers or frosh recruits for next years class. That’s true even if Hyatt decides to leave or we lose a frosh commit. We got Noah. Maybe we get one more high profile kid max. Expectation should not be for more than that.
You can complain about it but are you going to blame Pike if Ndongo leaves because of NIL money? IF the answer is yes, then you can't complain.
