Watching today's game with a buddy who is very well versed in football. He's not a Rutgers fan at all but so far here's his take:
  • You don't have a defensive or offensive line
  • The offensive gameplan and playbook are interesting in a good way, but none of the plays are being executed correctly because there's too much penetration by the DL
  • Most of the players on the field for Rutgers look like marginal D1 players
  • Only position group that looks competent are the CBs
  • Thinks it'll be two more years before we see anything we like because he believes the field will be filled with freshmen the rest of this season and next

I can't even to begin to imagine how bad next year is going to be to watch.

And to make things better, we are on our 2/3rd string LB'ers who are young, undersized and hurt.

It is not all about talent. That is crap. We are not playing Ohio State. SHould not be down 21 in the first quarter. Heck when we play D1aa teams we don't beat them the way we are getting beaten right now. This is what happens when you hire on the cheap

its not just talent, this is going beyond that, its a young coaching staff getting schooled because they are running the wrong schemes, calling the wrong plays and pushing the wrong buttons. Can they still succeed...yes but they came in like hotshots and have proven to have a lot to learn. I heard slam dunk hire that Hobbs made and you can only roll your eyes. There is no guarantee that Ash will succeed here and no guarantee he will not but until he shows something the effusive praise this hire and actually the hire with Pikiell is debatable

We're going to be short on talent for quite a while unless we show some life on the recruiting trail and on the field.
