Drew Mehringer went to high school in Mansfield, TX. Stidham went to high school just under 80 miles away in Stephenville.

As a true freshman, Stidham passed for 1,265 yards and 12 touchdowns with two interceptions in 10 games. He started three games for the Bears before suffering a season-ending ankle injury. Stidham was ESPN's No. 2 rated dual-threat quarterback recruit coming out of Stephenville (Texas) High.

thought it was announced hes going to a JUCO for a year because he didnt want to rush into a decision. In that case hes going to a top 8-10 school. that also gives him the ability to go to a Big 12 school again I believe.
