John,
My wife and I are coming to Piscataway for the 1st game of the season! AND, we are driving too all the way from Little Rock, Arkansas thru Nashville then Indianapolis, then thru Harrisburg, PA then to Cape May, NJ, then thru Jackson, NJ then to NYC and back to Jackson then on to Piscataway! A long trip for sure!

I need a back window Rutgers decal, a Rutgers "block 'R'", and flags to display flying as I drive. Where do I look for buying them prior to my trip? I plan to be a driving billboard for Rutgers for the 3500-4000 mile trip!
Why not?

BTW, even my friends in Arkansas are saying that this will be one helluva trip! I think so too.

only to say any trip thru Nashville is a great trip

We have been there several times. We are staying at the OpryLand hotel for 5 nights and then on to Indianapolis and points East!

I will have my cowboy boots packed and will definitely stop at Tootsies in Nashville! If you have been to Nashville you know what I am talking about!

Thanks![/QUOTE

As I recall, Steve, the owner of Scarlet Fever, has been a somewhat regular poster on the board for years. I think he's "SF88," something to that effect. I don't personally know Steve. But, he's well-known as a diehard fan from the days when we had few diehard fans. If he was made aware of your plans, I'm sure that he'd see-to-it that you're directed to the right gear.

Also, in thinking of your prior posts, while visiting, don't focus simply on Taylor Ham when it comes to stocking-up on breakfast sandwich ingredients. It's just as much about the Italian hard rolls. Make sure you stock-up, and properly cool, freeze or ship, the right bread for your return trip.

Southern, I'm on it--no need to call. :-)

Also, if you're wearing your cowboy boots to the game, I'm wearing mine. I've bought two pairs in Nashville on two separate trips, and my eagle boots need some more mileage. Mrs. Screw can wear her new R boots. Anyone else in on the cowboy-boot theme? Bring it.

SG:

I'll mail you one of mine. Just contact me via private message.

If people ask, you can tell them you're going to go visit the birthplace of college football. [cheers] That being said, I think the exact spot is now a parking lot. [roll]

I think it's now the Barn, but Google Earth was asleep at the switch that day so it's tough to say. Might be Skinny Vinny's.

I didn't mean to imply that I was wearing my boots to the game! Kinda hot for boots. But if it is raining, I just might.
I am adopting a wait and see attitude towards the boot wearing.

If you will be in Cape May, I recommend Harpoon Henry's for dinner if the weather cooperates. Its got a great outdoor bar and dining area with a key west vibe to it and has some spectacular sunset views! Food is very good and there are some great local craft beers on tap.

John, call the Marketing dept. at Rutgers, tell them of the plan. Ask if you can have any marketing material as well as a car flag, etc. Good Luck, and drive carefully!

PS
And, if that doesn't work, also call the Admissions office. They have material which could be attached to the car. Offer to pay postage.

Google.com is a great place to start...as dozens of companies sell stuff on the internet that they even mail your purchases straight to your home.

Heck, Amazon.com alone has 86 pages of RU merchandise...including everything you are asking for.

Probably too late to back out now, as the ever-absent Mrs. Screw has probably started making wardrobe plans around her boots. It's an unstoppable force, really.

Noon game Labor Day weekend is almost certainly too hot for my R cowboy boots. Better weather for my Rutgers flip-flops.

If it rains I have my R rain boots. Would not want to destroy the cowboy boots in the mud.

Yep. I've got R footwear for every occasion!

I guess the bigger question is whether any RU fans will return the favor and head on down to Arkansas this year to catch a game. Unfortunately, our only bye week (Oct. 3), Arkansas will be playing at Tennessee. However, that might make for a nice trip, too.

IF I were a betting man, this year I would take Arkansas in EVERY game. I don't know if we will win them all(highly doubtful). But we will be in them all for sure at the very end. We are picked to finish 4th in the SEC West. In all the years that I have been watching Razorback football, 2 teams have impressed me the most, the 1978 Hogs and this year's team.

The Hogs will surprise you this year.

Many of us made the trip down when Rutgers played the Razorbacks & had an amazing time. Nicest people I have ever met. Ever.

Some of y'all have asked me to private message you. I would if only I knew how to do so.

In the vast emptiness of my brain, I must disclose that I am technologically challenged. I think I can handle emails however.

my email address is:

kchogfan1 at yahoo dot com

feel free to email me there.

You can have the retarded R window flags MrsScrew flys to every game. Please.

Love my Razorback family!! Going to lunch in two hours with my favorite one of them all [sorry, mildone, location unpublished]. :-)

Say hi for us if I know them.
You haven't met her, but maybe you saw her at the game in Arkansas? The Mrs. knows who I'm talking about, which means you probably do, too. I'll say hi. If you want, since she and I will do a little bit of shopping for her while she's here, text me your credit card number and I'll pick something up for her and give you full credit, of course. We're looking at watches and shoes.
