I love Doorson and the effort he has given but based on the way we choose to play in the half court offense when Doorson is in and based off how other teams are attacking us when he’s in id like to see his PT cut back. His usage should be entirely matchup dependent, in particular in conference play, against some bigger teams. But even then as a staff they must be sure to give a only a short leash when teams force him play out on the perimeter.

Too many times we wait to get burned a few times before he gets pulled.

I disagree. I think Johnson has a lot of potential but right now he appears to be our number three big man. The unfortunate thing is that Carter has surpassed him mostly because Myles has regressed over the last several games.

I don't agree with that at all.

Johnson picking up quick fouls is the same thing that plagued Doucore last year. I think all three of our other bigs have more upside than SD but they have to take the PT away from him.

What the heck has happened to Doucore? How does such a highly-rated recruit end up as our last big off the bench?

Well typically in these 4star flame situationd ( some too early to call that) it’s either coaching or the ranking was off. In the case of all our 4 star commits in all sports right now it’s the talent. These guys were not highly pursued by top programs and were not all big recruiting wins - but still nice pickups for our programs.

Rankings do not Tell everything. The situation you described happens all over the country.

Mathis and Doucore had several high major offers. They were excellent wins on the recruiting trail.

Carter has excellent hands around the basket. The key is can he defend and rebound. He's getting better... but... he's not a Pikiell rebounding center yet. Not sure any of the centers on the roster are yet, but Doorson is the closest.

I have 100% confidence that Pikiell is playing who should be playing. I'd like to see Myles Johnson play more only because it shows to me that he deserves to play and gives us the best chance of winning.

Our fifth spot will be match up dependent. I assume when we play Fernando on Maryland, Doorson will play.

No one has shown to be that great at that spot yet. Carter is coming along, and will look to try to solidify 15-20 minutes at that position from here on out.
