Julie Gives Coach Flood Support After Practice

Sounds kinda like the "kiss on both cheeks" thing.

If I was Kyle, I'd have somebody else start my car for a while.

Yet people insinuate that she wants to get rid of him. She might because of things above her pay grade or for performance related issues like record but I think she's always tried to help him how she could (salary/buyout/assistant salary pool).

She can't fire him, even if she wanted to...not withought spending alot more money than the University would allow her. So yeah, he has unwavering support. By the way, if/when the time comes to fire him no one, not even Shaun O'hara, can say she didn't support him.

Agreed. Flood was not her guy and any AD wants to hire their own coaches. I'm impressed.

Statement From Hermann:

"Earlier today I joined Coach Flood, met with the football team and delivered a message about personal accountability and the responsibility to be caretakers of Rutgers Football and everything it represents.
"As the leader of the Athletic Department, I felt it was important to meet with the players to express my profound disappointment over recent issues involving the program, but at the same time make the team fully aware that they have my unwavering support.
"This program has historically represented this University to the highest standards, both on and off the field. I can tell you from my personal interactions that this locker room is filled with the type of leaders and quality young men that will continue to serve as exemplary ambassadors for the University.
"The expectation is that they will continue to do so.
"Please understand, there will be no further comment on pending matters until they are resolved."

That's great that she did that. And those in the know will tell you that Julie is a good person and she cares about people and all she wants is for us to succeed - with coach flood leading us. We're going to be fine.

man those that dislike flood and those who want the sky to fall ,can't even accept what she says at face value-try harder gloom and doomers

Monday afternoon, Rutgers Athletic Director Julie Hermann issued a statement regarding the football program. It is her first public statement since any issues arose with the program dating back in August. Credit Sam Hellman from Scout for getting the statement out first. Dan Duggan of NJ Advance Media claimed Hermann pledged her support of coach Kyle Flood this morning in front of the football team. Hermann's support of Flood was not referenced in this statement.

Along w Gov Christie's statement today,it seems the State and RU have finally circled the wagons against the Vulures (Manahan, Politi, and Dugan) at NJcom. Finally, better late than never.

Sorry but I am failing to see the support of the head coach in her prepared statement. What I do see is her making a statement after NJ.com may have led everyone to believe she made statements supporting HCKF which appear to refute the media report.

Nice to see her back him, for the sake of the program and athletic dept. however her job is to put the best possible face on this thing, and support flood even if behind the scenes she's preparing his walking papers. She has his back until she doesn't.

Yeah, it was more about support for the players that have done everything right and have contributed positively to the program.

She was supporting the players. She said nothing about Flood and his lack of control.

The blue sky crowd better start praying because beating TTFP is required for Flood to stay and even then he's on thin ice.

Seems like you are posting the same NJ.com link twice.
Don't see a reason for it, except if it's a way to rate links you like

She wasn't here to hire him and may not be here to fire him. It's a damn shame because I thought she was promising. Bobby Petrino would probably be here now if not for our media. This would have been the first state he would have coached in with legit NFL talent.
