I get it’s the first game and it’s only Columbia but this kid may have been a fantastic pick up for us. He sees the floor very well, is all over the place, doesn’t give the ball away and he’s ready to shoot before the ball is even in his hands. All of the “Spencer can’t play defense” crowd should take notice - this kid is a player on both sides of the floor.
Reminds me alot of Ricky Dadika but an even more complete versionI get it’s the first game and it’s only Columbia but this kid may have been a fantastic pick up for us. He sees the floor very well, is all over the place, doesn’t give the ball away and he’s ready to shoot before the ball is even in his hands.
Big turnaround in 2’d half…good to see!So it let it be written
Cam scoring against UNC on non threes was always a very bullish signalI watched highlights Loyola(Md) against UNC last year and some good mid majors programs He can hang at the high major level. It was the perfect replacement as a go to scorer for RHJ. There was a reason why he was considered 4⭐ transfer portal guy.
Unbelievably high bball IQ, great passer, shooter and he had 6 steals! 6!
True but staying in front of big ten guards is very different then what we saw tonightColumbia isn't Michigan, but 6 steals against any comp at that level is big time.

And why this will be Pike’s best teamSpencer ignited the whole team. Shooting like that got everyone’s Adrenalin up. That is the kind of player we have needed. This could be fun guys. I know it is only one game so tap the brakes a little but that kind of shooting is something we have not seen here in. Long time. When he gets hot, wow.
And he barely played the last 8-10 minutes lolThat's why I said they weren't Michigan. Defense isn't always just footspeed. It's anticipation and vision. He clearly has those things.
6 steals in a college game is big time though. He may not do that against Ohio St. but it's still one helluva a night.
That combination will be absolutely deadly!I've been in NJ for a few months visiting and was at the game tonight.
Cam Spencer IS A PLAYER. Crafty as hell, anticipation on D is off the charts. Can't wait to see him and McConnell on the court together.
This will be a better defensive team than last year.
I think others in this thread beat you to this. We heard it from you third or forth.Way too many people sleeping on Cam. He may turn out to be our best player this year. You heard it here first.
I have been saying it for a couple monthsI think others in this thread beat you to this. We heard it from you third or forth.
And why this will be Pike’s best team
Wow, I am not even sure I can go that far. Mike Newlin was one of the toughest guards I ever saw.Old New Jersey nets fans from the RAC days will remember this analogy
reminds me of Mike Newlin
Don’t blame your bad idea on the culture war 😂Okay....RIOT SQUAD....I'm begging you:
every time he hits a 3...."WHAM...BAMM...THANK YOU, CAM!"
(although I'm sure some woke moron at RU will put the kabosh on it rather quickly....)
Cam is a coach's dreamPike loves Cam.....was glowing about him at the Court Club Meeting last week and you can see why......
That's what everyone has been saying since he committed but he scored a lot against UNC last year off the dribble in a game he didn't shoot the 3 well. He's so much more than a spot up shooter. It’s legit to wonder how Cam will do against athletic tight on ball defenders. But he also seems like a crafty guard that will play much better once he gels with the team.
Yes. He knows what the hell he's doing out there. Plays under control.I get it’s the first game and it’s only Columbia but this kid may have been a fantastic pick up for us. He sees the floor very well, is all over the place, doesn’t give the ball away and he’s ready to shoot before the ball is even in his hands.

Spencer could play point guard!! He won't but he was running the point a little last nightNot much I can add other than I was very impressed with his vision and passing when RU was at my end of the floor. Overall, really happy about how the team responded to that crappy stretch when nothing was falling.
He’s one of the few kids out there who doesn’t care about NIL. Heard he never asked about it during his recruitment.Cam is a coach's dream
