Knight supposed to start this week (as of 4/18)

They possibly exceeded the amount of the original budget for assistants and need to get more funds.
I was thinking that may be what's going on too. $200,000 more for assistant coaches was not enough if you are trying to add more than 1 high profile assistant.

Someone said they knew B. Knights been at Rac allready working for several days..I wouldnt panic..
Its hard to believe that Knight is working at the RAC and that can't be confirmed by a reporter visiting the facility.

Let's consider other jobs still open at other schools. Josh Pastner is getting his staff at Georgia Tech. He just grabbed the Associate HC at NC state, so that spot is now open. Memphis is hiring a coach, so they will need an Associate HC. OSU has a spot to fill. UONN has a spot open. Joe Dooley may leave a HC job at FGCU to take a spot at NC state.

UPDATE....OSU hired Chris Jent, who returns to his old job.

Hopefully, we can still get Knight, but, there are lots of options and unknowns out there.

I agree we may need to be patient if others are reaching out to Knight. This will continue to be a risk until we lock him up. The fact that Hobbs has not been announced yet was providing me with some comfort that this just might be administrative matters but the coaching carousel is still moving and you would think others would have interest.

Whoever told you this is either lying or has no idea what they are talking about. He is not working without a contract and the school is not keeping his hiring a secret.

anything can happen, obviously, as we know..but..all things being equal..tomorrow,Thursday, should be a very good day

From what I understand he was on campus two days ago...the sky isn't falling yet

nobody said hes been working 12 hour shifts..just was told hes been around basketball offices this week for a couple days..take it FWIW

I'm not worried. I don't think Shoes would've been reassigned unless someone else was confirmed to be taking his spot.

Assuming the Patience is best for now -
an ultimate positive outcome would help to further build confidence in this HC's & AD's ability to work through the more complex matters.

Just curious - are there any ways in which it might be beneficial to be an "unaligned" coaching profession for just a bit right now? any upsides?
is an "unaligned" coaching profession (who is not advocating one team in particular) able to have unlimited get-aquatinted / ponder opportunities conversations with players?

maybe we need Rutgers Al to take a review of all the vehicle liscence plates to the assigned parking spots in the Rac lot?..and we can get more info! LOL

May be the open positions need to be posted on a hiring board since RU is a public institution

RHOOPS247 has a tweet that Rutgers goes into the April recruiting period armed with four scholarships to offer. Pikiell, Hobbs, Young, and Knight on the trail.

If someone can link it, I'd appreciate.

Sources at Rutgers telling Sergeant that it's premature to say he'll be on the staff..

This morning, Zags cites a source saying "Brandin Knight to Rutgers still not done yet, source w/ direct knowledge tells @SNYtv"

He says further, that he just knows that some things have to be worked out..

There comes a point where this just needs to get to closure -
either the details are resolvable or they are not
- the longer it goes on as an uncertainty - especially during the signing period - the more it urgently becomes a issue that simply needs to be concluded one way or the other - how it gets resolved becomes less important than simply having it resolved & getting on with taking action on multiple critical matters

While that may be the employer/fan view, the employee will want to make sure all the details are spelled out and in writing.

I believe he is waiting on the RAC AC to be finished before signing on the dotted line.

It is really a two way street - at this point it has been unclear as to source of the slow progress - with the limited details, it could be just about anything - could be either side -

Hope that there are only one or two simple details remaining that amount to mere formalities.

Yet another hiring melodrama.

Sargeant, Weies, Carino, Rothstein say it's done.

Zagoria doesn't. I'll go with majority and say it's a done deal.
