***Korab Idrizi to Rutgers***

I was wondering what ethnicity his name is.....Google shows those names are common in Albania.

I wonder how many players of Albanian heritage have played major college football

Interesting to see that we are still recruiting TEs. That was a question early on, is what would be the role of the TE in the new offense. Guess the staff has some things in store!

He reminds me a lot of Kroft.

I like the staff targeting solid players from the big NJ schools. Since pickings are slim this late in the game, why not develop a pipeline for the 2017 class?

Think big gronk. Flex, h back and limited hand in the dirt stuff. In his Hudl he is a ball snatcher. I only saw him play live once and didn't pay attention to him but the staff is looking for guys who can create mismatches at TE

I guess this means we're not getting the kid from Bergenfield...Jovani Haskins.
Bummer.

  • Age 17 yrs 7 mo
  • 247 rating: 3-stars
it will be 5 more months before turns 18 ... no doubt that he is getting BIGGER

NICE addition!

why is he a 2 star? project?
Blitz:

Was rated a 2 * star before his senior year season because he was considered short for a TE. Then was 6-1
approximately. Had a growth spurt and measures approximately 6-4 now...and only can get bigger.

Wasn't Marco Battagia about 6'2'' 225/230....at best..

247 had him as a three star.

The star system only works in a planetarium.
It is the stars in his "HEART" that I care about and from his coach who speaks of his high character. This is the 2-3 stars player that win championships. Welcome Mr. Korab, and smart move as your educational experience is the best of all your offered schools.

Just wondering, did you feel the same way when Flood would bring in players with no other offers?
Most on this forum bashed Flood for his poor recruiting and would bash these same type or recruits.

I for one don't know how good he will be but I am just surprised by the double standards on this forum.

I have never vested in the star system when it came out. Over time you can see its' flaws I rarely speak of negatives unless I have seem some many errors on tape. I have always said and believe Stars mean nothing once you step on the practice filed.
Case in point Huggins' 4/5 stars did not help at RU (Ok it got him on the field sooner then he should have. which was to his own detriment) bottom line lower star players EARNED their place ahead of him.

Stars mean nothing to the individual player once he steps on the practice field. The stars per player across the entire team means a great deal.

Stars do not mean a player is good or bad at the college level. No one can look at a high school player and know that. Stars do assign a probability of success (and they do it well). A 5 star is highly likely to be a top performer at the P5 level. A 2 star is unlikely to be a contributor. Any player can outperform his ranking, and any given player can underperform compared to his ranking.

The star system actually does a great job of predicting the most likely outcome though. Because stars predict a probability of success, in the aggregate, they matter a lot.

Funny how I read these and the same people who loved him are saying he's no good now that he flipped.

Yea. That's the way it goes. Just a fan being a fan. In reality, he is probably an average recruit with the potential to be a member of the two-deep.

When someone kicks you square in the nuts, it usually changes your opinion of them. Unless your into that kind of thing. I'm not, classless move to commit to Rutgers knowing there was a chance he was committing to BC a couple days later.

Just saw that BC lost two assistants. Not sure how he is effected.

Not sure why we should care. I surely don't.
Don't understand the perpetual fascination with BC and Syracuse. Yeah, we "lost" a 2 star recruit to BC. As noted in many other threads, Catholic school kids like Catholic colleges like BC. Get over the butthurt, and move on. Rutgers is not a realistic choice for some kids who want to go to a Catholic school.

Football recruiting - like football itself can get rough.
However the stench of "manipulation" and disingenuous posturing that permeated this whole rapid flip-flop leaves an indelible mark on the integrity of a few of the participants in this episode.

From a big picture - this is just a blip - but undoubtedly Ash will take a "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" position - and it is unlikely that this scenario will play out like this again.

I wonder why...i'll bet they don't give mass a second thought..phony baloney.

Over the last six years....2010-2015....Boston College's won/lost record is 30-45.... 30-45.
Their offense last season was the worst I have ever seen in D1A college football....EVER.
They need this kid way more than we do.
