Lathans Land of the Lost

Lathan's best game at RU thus far. On a night EO wasn't his best, but still provided some blocks and cleared space for the others to grab boards, it was a solid night for the 5 spot.

4 assists tonight, it is almost that we should not judge a freshman too harshly in his first month as a college player.
Spot on. He finally passed out of the double team and did it well. I loved the kickout to Hayes for a wide open three.

In 18.8 mpg, this freshman big (how many times have we said that it takes freshmen big longer to develop?) is averaging 8.1 ppg, on on .522 shooting percentage and .80 on free throws, and averaging 4.1 boards in those 18.8 minutes, leading the team in blocks, by far, with 9, and has committed a grand total of 4 turnovers in 169 minutes. And YES, he is still learning the game! Who does that surprise?
This thread sucks. The kid's good and will become very good. But, you see, there's this and that, and then there's this . . .

Thank god that the RU fan base is OK. It's this board that's often a mess.

This is the RU fanbase.
Being wrong is great.
On to Seton Hall with renewed confidence and Ace concentrating on rebounding…we react to what we see.
Go RU, tough throw out the records rivalry game a-comin

Well, this board had Caleb transferring down after his freshman year following the first month of his first season here.

because there is no accountablity. he knows he will at least split time with EO. remember the story of how he threatened to bolt if Pike brought in a center. Never seen a freshman have so much bravado despite lacking a complete game
At this point this is a recurring narrative in your head that is coloring some pretty weak data about what this kid is thinking.

Not our expectations, but Pikes. Pike chose to rely on Lathan to be a significant piece of the solution inside. We know that to be true, because he chose to overlook the problem all off season and did nothing about it, even though it was a glaring issue to most others. if these were really the expectations as you say, than clearly something should have been done to fix it.
False. Go back and read all the TKR articles and recruiting threads from the summer. It's report after report of RU trying to recruit various bigs and then losing out due to lack of NIL.
