Not surprising - he's had the most game experience. We know what he brings to the table, and while he may start the season based on being the most comfortable back there I don't expect him to be the guy in the middle of the season.
Experience doesn't mean much when Everyone is learning a new offense. Maybe he's just Better?
OP - please re-title this thread using the appropriate numerical designation.
Disagree - can't dismiss experience and it definitely counts for something even with a new offense. Even though there is a lot different, I'm sure some things are still the same along with the fact that he has had the most time playing with a portion of the guys on offense.
Listen to the presser - Ash said that while he's played just a little bit better than the others he hasn't separated himself. The targum article and this thread title is spin.
So the Targum misquoted Ash? They reported that Ash had said, "Not saying, again, that there’s a big separation, but he’s probably a step ahead of the other guys."

These are the same quotes that were in the post by @mildone a couple of days ago and also quoted by Dunleavy fro the APP. Have noticed that there is very little separation among the coverage of the Star Ledger/NJ.com, Asbury Park Press and The Targum. Targum was a little late with their story, but no really anything new.
Thank You vkj91. Why are people still bashing Laviano. I mean how is it that we see major changes and improvements in many other players under the new coaches but when it comes to Chris he is still being bashed. I believe in the new staff and maybe Chris worked his butt off in the off season and yes maybe he did get better as did other players.
I know he left a bad taste in our mouths from last year but the new staff has put him in a better situation and he is performing. Apparently the beloved 4 star 3rd string LSU strong cannon armed QB is still not mentally ready and still can't perform on the big stage. So please give Laviano the same respect as we do Clayton, Matthews, Cioffi and guys like that who have improved.
I have been to a few practices because my little cousin was offered for the 2018 class and a good friend on mine's son is being recruited and has an offer as well. I am not gonna give away any major secrets but Chris is looking like a much improved player as he is as well is learning the new system. After all most folks here do not have access to practices and are saying that coach Ash don't know what he is talking about if you continue to bash Chris. *****I Believe in Coach Ash****
Not liking the sound of that . Tells me we are screwed at QB this year. I'm sure new staff wanted a stud to emerge .
