Linden 59 Newark East Side 59 in North 2 Group IV Sectional Final

Linden defeated Newark East Side tonight at Linden 59-51. Linden shot 16-18 on the foul line and won a battle of the only two public schools rated in the Top 13 of the state in the sectional final. Linden held Brodie the 6'11" guy from East Side to two points and I think only one rebound. Tavon Jones led Linden with 15 and Marcellus Livingston had 13. Linden will play Bloomfield on Thursday night at 7PM at the Dunn Center in Elizabeth. Bloomfield beat Ridgewood today 39-34. Hunterdon Central beat Freehold 41-39 and Shawnee beat Toms River North 76-72. HC will play Shawnee at Egg Harbor on Thursday. I believe the winners of the two games will play for the Group IV State Championship I think at Rutgers on Sunday.
I hope I can see RU win tomorrow to do what my Linden guys did tonight. I love this time of year.

Jones is very good and he is only a junior and he is a very good foul shooter. He also can rebound and pass the ball.

I think they know where RU is but Tavon Jones might be their only D-1 player but they are unselfish and play such great defense and move the ball really well.A lot of teams know of Tavon. Freddy Hill was at the game last night probably to see Brodie their big recruit from Newark East Side but probably to see Tavon as well. Steve Pikiell is well aware of Tavon as well. He has seen him several times.
