What a game tonight. Linden trailed 48-39 with about 4 minutes left when they hit three consecutive threes in about 45 seconds by Watkins, Ruth and Jones to tie the game at 48. Tavon Jones scored 29 for LHS. Battle from TC was outstanding as well. I think he had 27. He can really shoot the ball as he had five threes. Linden closed the game out on a 20-5 run. I think TC will be a real threat in South Jersey Parochial A. I think Battle had to sit out after transferring but I might be wrong. TC looked very good to me.

He is good but not great. Last night he had two threes. I would say he usually makes a couple a game. One game as a soph he had five threes vs. Roselle Catholic. He is an outstanding defensive player and one who can handle the ball drive to the basket and draw fouls. He also is very quick and grabs about 8 rebounds a game. He has 394 points so far this season in 16 games for 24.6 points per game. He made first team All State last year as a junior and was second team as a soph. Linden won the State Group IV Championship both years and is so far rated the top public school in the state this year. Newark East Side is also very good and they could meet for the third consecutive year in the sectional final.

Ive advocated for us to take jones for a while. Good player.

I'm not as tied into the recruiting circuit as a lot of guys here but it really seems there's a Catholic hs to Catholic colleeg pipeline, except for bluebloods like Duke, Kentucky, etc.RU's best recruiting option is Linden (Coach C must be a magician) and other quality public school programs.

The Catholic HS's have the best players because they go out and recruit them

No big mystery there----just as they do in football and wrestling

As far as connection to Catholic Colleges the best 4 commits in the state thus far have been Reid to LSU , King to Oregon , Carey to Cuse and Muhammed to Ohio State.

The kind of player RU needs. Plays both ends and plays hard all the time. Not just saying that because i'm a Linden grad.
