Lloyd Terry Locked Up Too - Ugh

I am simply gobsmacked by all this robbery stuff. My God....what an incredible HONOR it is to play for Rutgers, to be on a team of talented people and to have a shot at an incredible future as a "former player" or the NFL.............and to blow it ALL...by doing this kind of stuff.

Stunned me too. Also, I don't think I ever remember hearing this kid's name before today, though he is still on the team's site. Feel bad for all the men on the roster who are doing the right thing and having this reflect on them.

I have to admit I'm starting to grow curious what the real story behind the burglaries is. The background - how the idea of doing it came up, what the motivations were. Obviously there was a lack of any kind of critical thought. But what happened where someone thought this would be a good idea to do? And then was able to convince the others?

I know the situation's not unique, but now that it's in our backyard, I'm curious about the back-story.

There was at least 1 poster, last week, I recall saying something along the lines of "there's more to come." Lord I hope THIS is it now!

Just when the story is starting to quiet down in the media - and we can get back to focusing on football - something like this happens, and it reignites the story. I would have to think that this is intentional.

He obviously wasn't talking about this, since his former RU employee wife has no insight into a criminal investigation.

You're being awfully assumptive, as to whom I speak of, no? It wasn't a "big-name" poster BUT maybe more than 1 person made such a comment. I don't know.

I've read all of these threads pretty closely -- only one guy said that, although I don't remember who.

Can we stop with this BS please? So now the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office and the New Brunswick Police Department are part of the anti-Rutgers football-hating conspiracy?

How about our guys STOP GETTING ARRESTED??? How about that? Walk-on or not, he's connected with the program and people are going to link them, just like EVERYONE here would if this happened at Penn State. Details aren't important, that program is out of control.

Sheesh

It seems like standard gangland stuff to me. Rob criminals, because they won't go to the police. I'm sure they thought it was a home run going in. They thought wrong, and are now living proof that no matter how well you think you have it figured, things can always go very wrong when you choose that path.

To be honest, they are pretty lucky they will only get a few years in the can, and not that the "easy target" wound up having a gun and the thing turns into a murder scene.

The only thing that doesn't add up to me was "3 ounces of weed and $36k in cash." Its possible the Middlesex Sheriffs have terrible timing (and they most certainly have in the past), but barring that, those numbers don't add up.

The program is not out of control. That is total hyperbole, and an injustice to the other 80+ kids on our roster who are doing the right thing.

Again, I could be wrong, but pretty sure it was the same guy who commented about there being "more to come," in separate thread a day or two later - in the thread about "Hermann and the police" being there "for some players" (and people gave him shit about it...) - but that's all I've got. Maybe I'm wrong just seemed like Real was being a tad assumptive that's all.

So- we had a player, a walk on and an ex player involved in a serious crime. Looks to me to be 2 players. We had a few others in a fight.
We had a coach contact a professor trying to see what the kid could do to EARN a better grade.

I am not down playing any of it- except for the email...that is still the craziest crap ever when you have UNC and others. Even the other two when compared to Miami, Vandy and others.

I would also find it very hard to imagine that Flood would know of the fight and potential arrests and not say something to Julie. Forget about him as a HC- even the most ardent Flood haters would not question his character. I kind of doubt ANYONE new of the police investigation into the thefts, that is not something the police just go tell the coach of the school while they are still trying to gather evidence.
Maybe it's just me but I don't think so.

Don't tell ME there's no conspiracy against us RU fans. Have you tried the chicken nuggets at the stadium? It took a lot of organized hatred to commit a food crime of that magnitude.

Thank you Cabbage. And, please BoroKnight, quit with the drama. All I mentioned was that it's, again, curious why this information comes out right before gametime. I do not think that this has anything to do with the AD or the football program, in particular, being out of control. Just as it has been said many times before - by people who speak more eloquently than I - it is rather unusual to have (the original) story go to the press the way it had (arrests of players in at the Hale Center following football practice, with the media on hand to record the event, several months after the crimes took place). That's all I was saying.

Ok, continue.

I don't know how "former player" translates into an "incredible future," but I'll set that aside and just say that I don't know anything about these kids, other than their gameday performances. I don't know their circumstances and their character, and I don't know with whom they're spending their time when they're not in class, at practice or on the field. One "in-the-know" alumnus suggested that none of the players were actually "the brains of the operation," and I take that with a grain of salt. For whatever reason, they allegedly committed violent felonies, and they've been dismissed from the program.

As stunned and embarrassed as I am by all of this, I don't know any of these former student-athletes, personally, and it's a gentle reminder of how far removed my own existence really is from "Rutgers Football," even as a guy who spent 3 out of 4 undergraduate years on the field for every single home game, and half the away games. In that context, I don't presume to judge the players for how they live their day-to-day lives. Instead, I'm gratified that the leaders and administrators employed by Rutgers wasted no time in immediately cutting ties with the students after performing the bare minimum of due diligence to ensure that their indictments were not without basis in fact.

It's called new evidence. Would you rather the police wait till after the season? We would be up in arms that they let a criminal play. Arrests should be made, and generally are, as soon as the evidence allows. Just stop with the conspiracy theories.

There were no conspiracy theories. Maybe that was difficult to read from my original message because you cannot gather intent from text on a message board. But, at the same time, you should know not to jump down people's throats because you are inferring something in what they wrote.

This is the same Prosecutor who was over zealous in his charges against the Sayreville HS hazing/assault students , and lost on all the serious charges. Notice these charges came only a week or 2 after losing on the serious charges in those cases. I'm wondering if this Prosecutor his hoping people forget how he screwed up those cases. Are these charges 'over zealous' as well????

I am so sick of this stuff. The non-walk ons get four or five years of college paid for (roughly $125,000) and just throw it out the window .

Will you at least tag me? Or hit me up on FB?
As I've uttered numerous times (I'm sure one of your friends from the premium side will give you the info)...I know more people throughout the world than the AD. Shocking, I know.

Any other cancers on the team we should know about? Please feel free to dismiss them at your discretion, coach
