Lloyd Terry Locked Up Too - Ugh

This is the same Prosecutor who was over zealous in his charges against the Sayreville HS hazing/assault students , and lost on all the serious charges. Notice these charges came only a week or 2 after losing on the serious charges in those cases. I'm wondering if this Prosecutor his hoping people forget how he screwed up those cases. Are these charges 'over zealous' as well????

Overzealous? Maybe. But he can only try them once for the crime, so he has to throw everything at them and see what sticks. Is that the wrong way to handle things? Maybe, but if you put yourself in bad situations, you have to deal with the consequences.

I can say with 100% certainty that it WASN'T RU5781 whose post I read. He may have posted something similar, as well, but it definitely wasn't him (hence my earlier comments...). Thank you.

There were no conspiracy theories. Maybe that was difficult to read from my original message because you cannot gather intent from text on a message board. But, at the same time, you should know not to jump down people's throats because you are inferring something in what they wrote.
Evidently my sarcasm antenna is not aligned. Sorry.

There was at least 1 poster, last week, I recall saying something along the lines of "there's more to come." Lord I hope THIS is it now!
Sorry to say that this was me. But I was shouted down by people on his board. I was told this still is not the end of it. There will be more. There is little honor among thieves. Don't think it will lead to more arrests but more crimes will be attached the people already arrested.

So- we had a player, a walk on and an ex player involved in a serious crime. Looks to me to be 2 players. We had a few others in a fight.
We had a coach contact a professor trying to see what the kid could do to EARN a better grade.

I am not down playing any of it- except for the email...that is still the craziest crap ever when you have UNC and others. Even the other two when compared to Miami, Vandy and others.

I would also find it very hard to imagine that Flood would know of the fight and potential arrests and not say something to Julie. Forget about him as a HC- even the most ardent Flood haters would not question his character. I kind of doubt ANYONE new of the police investigation into the thefts, that is not something the police just go tell the coach of the school while they are still trying to gather evidence.
Maybe it's just me but I don't think so.
I don't think you should downplay the fight given the felony charges. Average students don't match up with 5 specimen football players.
I think you should wait till the facts come out before you downplay the event, or sensationalize it for that matter. But "just a fight" is wrong IMO.

Plus ya never know what somebody might be bringing to a fight. We had a player get knifed in the leg a few years ago for making a bad assumption about who he could smack around.

I have to admit I'm starting to grow curious what the real story behind the burglaries is. The background - how the idea of doing it came up, what the motivations were. Obviously there was a lack of any kind of critical thought. But what happened where someone thought this would be a good idea to do? And then was able to convince the others?

I know the situation's not unique, but now that it's in our backyard, I'm curious about the back-story.
Sounds like they found out where a drug dealer was and figured they could score alot of cash and some pot at the same time. Maybe they figured the drug dealer wouldnt report it (Hello police. Yeah, um - someone just stole my dope)

Never bring muscles to a knife fight?

Well yeah, but even more fundamentally, how did they even get to the point where they were saying "we need cash so let's rob somebody"?

Actually, now that you mention it, how did it get reported?

Uncanny how the crimes occurred months ago and arrests take place on the first day of the college football season (last Thurs) and the first day of the pro football season. Does someone have a sense of humor at the Middlesex County prosecutors office?

GO RU

Zap man...you have to read my full statement- I clearly said that I am NOT downplaying any of it. Regarding the fight, you have to remember that I have a 6ft5, 300+ would class athlete that I helped raise. Fist thing I always told him is that there will always be some that will try to test you but that because of his size and strength, he will always be the one who is "wrong" in a fight. Walk away, what is there to prove?

We do need to see what comes out of this. did the players seek out these others or was it something that heated up at the moment. To me, that is the question. That changes everything in my mind from stupidity to criminal.

For the theft, it makes sense. for the fight, it doesn't make any sense at all unless this kid with the broken jaw didn't say anything at the time and then his parents and a lawyer got involved. Sounds almost like the police either, were not called at the time of the fight or they were and let everyone walk away at that time.

This would make for a fascinating book/movie in the right hands.. and I pray it is not some S-L jerkalist.

How uncomfortable was Mr Terry feeling after his cohorts got arrested last week while he continued to practice with the team ? The fact that he didn't come forward and admit his guilt in the past week tells me that he is not the type of kid that you would want to invite into your home.

I'm a Kyle Flood supporter but feel that RU needs to establish some minimum standards to allow a player to participate in RU FB. Psychological testing is something that NFL teams routinely administer to all potential draftees. Why can't RU do the same for recruits to be accepted as an RU FB player, whether as a scholarship athlete or as a walk on ?

Yeah. This has certainly put an end to the Domestic Abuse, Kid Beating, DUIs, PEDs and Gun Charges for NFL Players. oh wait......

LOL, and as I've posted here before, having worked for a Psych testing company that worked with the NFL, in addition to other sports leagues, what these tests are measuring for will NOT weed out these issues. In fact, I would argue that traits like competitiveness, aggressiveness, ego-strength, risk tolerance, leadership, resilience, etc. can manifest into a very sociopathic profile under certain environmental conditions.

And still some folks cannot connect the dots. Who did they rob or attempt to rob? Drug dealers? How did they know this? Could it be that one or two or three were customers? What might this suggest...that maybe there is something else here to be concerned about that unfortunately is common on college campuses or society today such as smoking weed etc. How many pro or even.college players/students get caught by administrators, coaches, law enforcement people or even their parents....sometimes early on and sometimes too late not even at all. As crazy as it may sound and perhaps it is already routinely done but test them all...every player to be sure there may not be a greater problem at the core here. All it takes is a couple of bad apples to begin to rot the barrel.

The players I feel sorry for are the one or two who just maybe have been in the wrong place at the wrong time whether it be the fight or elsewhere. Details still are missing as to whether or not players such as Goss or maybe even D. Stephenson may have had any part with the robberies. The fight and robberies appear to be two separate issues involving some similar players.

While I am at it regarding events surrounding the entire situation, arrests and when and how they took place, here is another item to consider. It was reported that Julie was on hand with the police who came to practice to make their arrest. I am curious just how this may have happened, who may have known about this in advance and did anyone on the day it happened and even shortly before going to practice and the Hale Center give or try to give Kyle a heads up that the police and Julie were on their way.

Bottom line was their any need to make this an apparent show while members of the press were present. Just how hard would it have been to round up the suspects before practice or even later on at various team meetings or dinnet when the press might not have the apparent full exposure that they witnessed which just added more fuel to the fire. Lots of questions still to be answered and pethsps msy br why some folks might say.....is there more to come or others involved whether they be players, students not other outsiders. Obviously the big splash fir the prosecuter is to highlight the football players and sadly two were from Sayreville just by coincidence.

And how much worse would it be in the NFL without psychological testing ? Guess you haven't thought about that one yet ?

Maybe annual testing should be done on all FB players. Any psych testing that identifies abhorrent or criminal type behavioral tendencies may be helpful.

Just a thought. I don't have a comprehensive plan figured out.
