Making Rutgers Stadium Atmosphere GREAT Again

Nope, not for me, not even close. That's why they make chocolate and vanilla...
There’s a healthy combination of both
and they should do both, it’s not one or the other.
Band music has never played for special teams and warmups.
When the full pep band is at basketball games, their timeout segments are just as good as the piped in music dance team segments.
Do both, stop cutting songs off at their best parts also.

Based on what Al wants, you are already 20 minutes too late getting into the stadium. He would say you are one of the problem fans/groups. My group tries to be in for the anthem but like you said, it's gate entry dependent.

Finally I have seen Al walking the concourse just before a game. He's not in as early as he claims.
Didn’t make any claim as to arriving early. Sometimes I arrive early, sometimes late, sometimes on time.

The point was we should all strive to arrive early this season because we have a good team. But since not many care about this, why should I. I’ll continue to do like everyone else.

Hey buddy, I’m not the one that bumped this thread
Hey buddy, you are the one who started the thread. You are a passionate fan. I have said that many times, but this thread title is a bad look for RU.

You could change the title to: Make Our Atmosphere Great Again!! MOAGA, Baby!!!!!

Our football program does not have a history of playing highly important games of National consequence.
Do you somehow forget what happened in 2006 when we played such a game?
The place was packed with emotional fans crying during the playing of the Alma Mater.
If we are as good as you say we are, it will happen naturally, it will never happen at your urging!
I really hope Schiano can get this program to that level again. I was at the 2006 Louisville game and the atmosphere was electric! After the game, I got down on the field and while not crying I definitely shed a few happy tears I was so happy for those players who made it happen and were a part of the most significant Rutgers win in the modern history of RU football.

If that were the case we’d be fine, just as the pro guy and the A&M guy suggest…

A great college atmosphere is simple…more band…less piped in music at the top of the volume dial…ta da!!
But we’re more like Baskin Robbin’s or just have ADD with what we do now.

What we don’t need is “this one goes to eleven” for the piped in stuff for a mostly empty stadium.

Please stop telling others how to live their lives and spend their money. Have you heard about the inflation problem in the country? The cost of housing? Mortgage rates? People with families have many higher priority items including housing, food, saving for college, etc than donating to a silly football team. Yet some fan still do. For many of people, in their universe of things that are important, Rutgers football occupies a very small space relative to other things in our lives. Apparently, for you, Rutgers football occupies a much large space.

Some people can't make it to the stadium on time because of family commitments, traffic, or other things that are more important to them. They don't need a lecture from you or anyone else or an attendance monitor yelling at them with a tardy slip.

The Washington and Wisconsin games have ZERO national consequence. None.

Your first three bullet points are more "rutgersalisms" that exist in your mind and nowhere else. "Everyone" does not agree on any of those things. But YOU and a few other vocal fans do agree. Goody for you.

Be yourself by yourself, stay away from me.
You star in your movie, I will star in mine.
Have a lovely day.
Go RU.
Great post Knighty! Also unlike most parts of the country NJ is a very unique place in the sense that there is so much other stuff competing for our time and our dollars. I think i read somewhere that NJ has more professional sports teams within a 100 mile radius from its theoretical center than any other state in the country! We have more theaters, concerts, comedy shows, gambling and on and on, than just about anyplace in the entire USA.
You go to Penn state, Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio State, and there is not much going on outside of College football. In fact, for many states College football is ALL that is going on!
With that said, I am very excited with the direction that Schiano has the program going in and am going to try to get to my seats before kickoff. Go RU!

Ever been to Columbus? It is an enormous, fun city with lots to do…

It's a nice town with plenty to do, but it doesn't compare to the options available in CNJ and certainly not within an hour of NB, which brings NYC and Philly into the equation. Plus, as others have said, the pro sports options within an hour are far beyond what is available in Columbus, which is 2 hrs to Cincy and 3 hrs to Cleveland.

lack of "pro sports options" makes Columbus a college town on game day .
