Their top two commits just jumped ship. All out Twitter war going on between a couple still committed, a couple who left, and one who can't get qualified.

I guess the new guy came in and told some who have been committed since summer that he didn't want them.

Full blown dumpster fire now. Time to start offering the rest.

We've just lost Rene and Russo.

looks like WE also lost some of our top recruits

Maryland could get ugly-ugly
... they assembled staff with a whole bunch of "extensive experience" guys who went there thinking "hey, if we jump start this, I'll get a Head Coaching gig (again) real soon"

When a bunch of guys, who have been around a long time & are convinced that their phenomenal skill & experience is great - but is being squandered or just being overlooked (or is in danger of being discredited) - and they suddenly sense that their 'ticket back' could be turning into an extended exile ... it is going to be brutal. Add in bunch of boo$ter$ who lust for the fastest turn around in history and it gets worse.

Let's see if I got this right, ripping apart Syr. Conn. Temple,
Maryland and just about any body else, makes us better, you
know what? If this was true, we would have won the National
Championship several times by now. Sorry I just don't get it.
AT first I thought it was young freshman, new posters. But some have
been boing on for decades.
Why?

Maryland fans were talking huge names, citing UA money.

To settle for Durkin must have been a huge let down across the board. While hiring former HC's seems great on the face, it is the opposite of what Coach Ash preaches. It is going to be hard to get those guys on the same page. They all do their thing and reached a high level doing it that way. Can they buy into Durkin's direction?

Much easier for doing it HCCA's way. You can see why he took Meyer's advice and hired young go getters as opposed to older guys who are set in their ways.

Two polar opposite strategies. Will be fun to see which one does better.

It was the first post for the OP, and what a good one.

How did I miss the point. Calling Maryland a dumpster fire because they lost their top 2 recruits, while RU is a similar dumpster fire who all lost the top 2 recruits.

except your reply was about Basketball...

smh

How come every time somebody trashes another program some self righteous dingus or two will always point out that we shouldn't talk because we have our own issues?

Stop taking the fun out of enjoying watching other programs struggle. It's perfectly acceptable on message boards to trash other programs even when you're doing worse.

is said and done

Please tell that to the recruits and parents that read that crap.

Read the challenges that other programs have? Why would they care about reading that?

Dumpster fire? I know we just lost our two best rated recruits (albeit to a national power) but I'm not worried. I'd rather lose Haskins + Jones with the staff that we have in place than have kept them and still had Edsall.

Healthy attitude, and why I don't care about losing recruits right now. Fight or Flight. Ash will get his guys. We went the other direction under Flood and that worked out not great.

their TOS site has a 20 page thread making fun of us...I'm okay with bashing them too even if its not true because after all trash talk is usually not true..

Oh so you think our recruits and their parents care that we trash the Syracuse program on a message board. You're reaching broheim. Welcome to college football on the internet.

Meaning, at least they have a sport they are successful at.

Everyone on the face of the planet, including a few monkeys and ferrets, understood what you meant. It wasn't clever or insightful; it was an irrelevant basketball comment in a football post on a football board. Keep up or go away.

I look at Maryland and Rutgers being in the same boat.
We will see which team hired the best Captain to steer their ship.

Go RU.
Love this post because it is a contrast in Styles so to speak. Terps hired mostly older very experienced guys and Rutgers hired mostly younger guys. It will be interesting to see which philosophy produces better results.

Also a lot of their guys were fired from their last job while ours were promoted.
