Why did Nick end up on top after the injury? They were neutral when they went out of bounds. Did the injury impact this?

Since Nick called for the injury timeout, the other wrestler is given choice which was a terrible decision with the amount of time left .

You were right it was his shoulder. Since
Nick had injury time, Wisky had choice and he chose down. I was surprised at how Bono’s kids wrestled. They stalled on their feet every match except Wick who is #2 in country. Kid at 174 balled up on bottom to avoid giving up a pin or bonus points. Even their heavy did nothing and he is #9 in country. I expected more from them.

The kid wrestling Grello at 174 was a backup at 165...

A terrible decision??? Gravina has been a warrior his entire time here, you dont think he knew what would happen if he called for injury time? He could not get up, his shoulder was shot. Stupid comment.

What I thought was the terrible decision is why didn't Nick just grab the ankle and get it into OT. There was only 4.3 seconds left, he could have held onto it for the entire time and not been called for stalling.

I dont think he physically could. I saw him after the bout and to me he looked like he could not even lift his arm.

WHAT IN THE HELL EXACTLY IS THIS SUPPOSED TO MEAN? And yes I'm yelling, please elaborate from your limited knowledge of our program or that maybe your limited knowledge of wrestling outside of Wisconsin depending on the answer.

Their T17 finish at NCAA last year along with losing the duals to us the past two years shows they are headed in the wrong direction. I guess we are headed up? Listen Wisco don’t play the what if game. One of your horses didn’t compete because he’s injured. Our 184 lost because he is injured. You had a back up at 174 and we did at 165. Looked like two programs wrestling not to lose a dual and saw a fair amount of stalling. Good luck with the season.

Saying if this happens we won makes you sound like a jerk. It is irrelevant. You lost. If we both had different teams /// you lost!

Bono quickly became a crowd favorite in his first visit to the RAC. He probably can't wait for his next trip through.. Neither can we. $$$$

quotes that will fire you up from the scarletknights.com article,

suriano :
On his two days motion: That was 100-percent real. Two days, that's what I said, two days. That's what it's all about. That's what this weekend is about, two days. It's going to be a big match up. I'm looking forward to it. That's why I signed up for this sport, to wrestle the best. I want to show people Jersey wrestling. Remember all of the chirp? We got the win over Wisconsin, we're climbing up in the ranks, and now it's about beating world caliber wrestlers, like myself. That's what I am. It's time to take them out. He's a great competitor we've faced before. It's going to be great. Rutgers versus Oklahoma State in Jersey. People should be fired up.

On his next opponent: Of course, he does, that's the whole point. He's coming here to beat me. It's going to be a fight.

I can't wait for Sunday

Love his comments. Kid is a warrior.

I love Gravina, but for his sake, I hope he shuts it down for good.
He has to live with his shoulder the rest of his life.
Time for Willie Scott to start eating some doughnuts and get back to 184.

I was surprised at how Wisconsin wrestled overall (to be fair, our 165 and 285 turtled all match as well).
I know Wick finished 3rd last year and is a medal contender, but does he have anything else besides a cradle? If Wick had just let the RU wrestle up in the 1st, he could have teched him at will.

197 Wisky pounder got 1 TD but didn't shoot once (I give the Wisky wrestlers vs hammers a pass).

I thought the Referees were very lenient on BOTH sides with the stall calls.

When I got home last night, I was excited to see this match thread. My thoughts (that echoed many others):

Gravina was clearly hurt, not sure what others were watching. If you know his injury history, you knew what was going on.

Unimpressed with the efforts of Wiscy. Tons of stalling, not very aggressive. I thought their game plan against our top guys was smart in not giving up too many points. It almost worked.

Van Brill is like a human octopus. He seems like a very unique wrestler.

What's up with Metzler? I wish Paetzell had stayed. Disappointing....

Love Correntini and Grello's matches. Great effort and progress being shown. Also, loved Collucci's effort tonight.

Mediocre officiating it seemed as well.

Why do the 50/50 before half? I was just going up to get tickets and it was already over.

Last one: Why does everyone rush out to Hospital road to leave when you can just go out the other side?

Can't wait for Sunday.

Over 4,500 at the RAC last night, great crowd. RU continues to be one of the best venues for both attendance, crowd interaction, and sheer NOISE pumping up the home team.

Hearing Ok St is going to be over 6,000 !

Paetzell is at 133 so how does that help with him staying.

My point was I think he's a bit better right now. Weight classes are fluid so arguing that he could have been at 125 isn't that ridiculous right now. I didn't actually know he had moved up though.

He's been 133 for 2 seasons now. He is now ranked #17 by Flo. Mackall at 125 is the one we could have used if he stayed. He's now at N. Iowa I think

First of all very happy for the win. With that said, here are some thoughts.

125- Metzler did his job. He wrestled hard, no real stalling and kept himself out of danger against a guy who is a pinner.

133- NS looked good against a stingy kid.

141- Lipari wrestled well but needs to improve in-match strategy. Can’t give up that last two there. He is on the cusp.

149- AA was tentative in the first period but his second period was beautiful. Mental lapse in the 3rd but still a strong effort.

157- A win is a win but last year’s JVB pins this kid who is a back up.

165- Mission accomplished.

174- Grello got screwed by poor officiating in the first (refs weren’t very good in general). However, he needed to bonus this kid who was an undersized back up.

184- My heart goes out to Gravina. Injuries have really limited him.

197- Correnti moves well for a big guy. Motor seems to be improving. 197 is a pretty weak weight this year so with a little work he could qualify and score some points at nationals.

285- Wisc HWT looked a little injured but this was the best Collucci we have seen in a while.

Watch the PSU/Wisconsin dual and the OSU/Rutgers dual and you’ll see exactly what I mean.

Correnti is coming on....not getting the 2 backpoints hurt....Ref swiped 2, but said it wasnt consecutive..

You won 2 matches against #3 team including 1 over a backup(Chandler Rogers sat). I'd rather have a moral victory than a spanking like you had today.

Bringing up a day old thread to brag about having a better loss today? Dear lord...
