Maybe Monmouth should be B1G instead of RU?

Monmouth has now defeated RU in men's and women's lacrosse, men's soccer and field hockey this year. Thank God that Mack saved the bball team at the buzzer, huh? Sorry for the Mannyesque rant but it's beyond pathetic that MU has dominated Rutgers in so many sports.

Today's men's lax game was in a word -- sad. Spent a beautiful sunny day at HPSS watching Monmouth beat RU, 10-9, to win the FIRST GAME in the program's two year history. MU's coach, Brian Fisher, is an RU guy, and has a team that's almost all frosh and sophs ... and they made Rutgers look BAD.

Same ol' Rutgers -- hired on the cheap from a low-major. Brecht is in his 4th year and, well, it's a pretty inept program right now. All we heard was how bad Stags left the program, no talent, etc., and that Brecht was a winner and would recruit like hell and bring in some legit kids. Okay, last season RU beat Wagner 20-5 and Monmouth 20-4. A year later with more of the alleged dead wood gone and another Brecht recruiting class on the field, RU needed late goals to beat Wagner on Tuesday and today was OUTCLASSED on its home field by a second year program. RU had the edge in some of the stats but MU pretty much turned it on when it needed to. RU has no goalie. I doubt if the 2 kids today made a half dozen saves between them. Two of Brecht's recruits.

If Julie is serious about competing in all of the B1G non-rev sports, she's got some interesting decisions to make about her coaches. Wonder how much MU pays its coaches? And how fabulous are their practice facilities, S&C, recruiting budgets, etc.?
