No longer in the top 20. No surprise.
Teams ahead of us. High Point, Umass, BU, Nova, and Delaware. Yikes
This is why you CAN NOT lose to Army and freakin’ Lehigh. EVER.

Yes, recruiting has improved compared to Stags or Brecht’s first couple of classes but RU is falling behind the rest of the B1G. OK, people can argue the science of rankings, but Inside Lacrosse ranks RU ‘s class of 2019 as tied at #30 while the other B1G programs are all in the Top 10 except UMich tied at #18.
Big 4 all have a 5-star in the class. Four-star recruits —
MD - 11
JHU - 7
PSU- 6
OSU - 6
UMich - 4
RU - 1
Good point about the schedule getting more challenging, but there’s no sugar-coating that there were bad losses this year. Or that the talent deficit is widening.
This is why you CAN NOT lose to Army and freakin’ Lehigh. EVER.
You mean you can not lose to #17 Army while missing Edelman, Mullins and Harryman?
BTW, High Point is currently ranked ahead of Notre Dame, Denver and Towson.
You need to take a closer look.
Army is good. I would not discredit them. Can’t lose back to back years against them though. Someone step up and make a play. Blown leads against Lehigh, Cuse, and Maryland can’t happen. That’s too many. The point is, we can complain about being left out of the tournament, but the fact is we continue to stub our toe.You mean you can not lose to #17 Army while missing Edelman, Mullins and Harryman?

Team shrink. Hmm. My guess is that the SEC and ACC already has them so why not us.Hire a team psychiatrist for the athletuc department.

First RPI of the year is out. RU is No. 20. Not even close to the bubble. Nor do we deserve to be

I could see OSU getting in the tournament this year and not getting making the B1G tourney.

And the ACC has 4 once again. It also makes the OSU - Maryland game a key test. The loser will be on the bubble. And Penn shows what happens when you catch fire after some early season woes.
I realize that I'm a homer, but I don't think one loss to a top ten team is going to drive the #2 team in the nation to bubble status...
Still a slim chance without winning tournament We are 20. Beat Michigan and No. 1 Penn State and either Penn State or Maryland in first round, might get us in. Long shot, I know.
How can anyone even think of being over confident against anyone? Life and death struggle with St. John's, hung on for dear life to bear Princeton, got smoked out of the gate against mediocre Hopkins team, etc.
I'm sure Michigan sees Rutgers as a chance to snap a long skid and pick up a Big Ten win
Princeton? We only beat Fairfield 8-4. Granted, lots of guys out injured IIRC, but no excuse for that IMHO.
Lots of guys injured. You mean Edelman, Mullins, Harryman (and #2 FOGO Ott) and Christiano? I think AC was nicked up as well, but played. And you're quibbling about the margin of victory? Hey, it's been a disappointing season but this is getting ridiculous.
Yes, there are no credible excuses for this season thus far.Drexel just beat them 21-9. I would like to THINK that our roster should beat them, without those guys, handily. We did not, so yeah, I'm going to "quibble" and will do so until I see fit to do otherwise because there's just be tooooooo much "wtf" this season. Sorry buddy. Listen, you know me, I tell it like it is, regardless of sport, always have an always will. Now...HOPEFULLY....we go out there and play a full game again, LIKE we did against OSU, this Saturday.

I will merely respond by saying that in today's D1 lacrosse, particularly early in the season, if you are missing that many top players and you go against a healthy team nothing is guaranteed. You think Maryland would have won last week if they were missing Jared Bernhardt? Add 3 more top players to that and it becomes obvious. That's also telling it like it is.
D1 road wins are always good. That game was never in jeopardy.Princeton? We only beat Fairfield 8-4. Granted, lots of guys out injured IIRC, but no excuse for that IMHO.
Of course they do. They have some players who think they can beat anyone. How can anyone even think of being overconfident against anyone? Life and death struggle with St. John's, hung on for dear life to beat Princeton, got smoked out of the gate against a mediocre Hopkins team, etc.

I’m not going to kill you. It’s D1 B1G Lacrosse. No team is counting anything. You better go out and earn it.Cali is gonna kill me but I have ZERO confidence in us “counting” Michigan as an automatic W. We lost to Lehigh at home folks.

I bet we look at employing a 10 man ride next year. In can be very effective creating helter skelter.
Can someone explain this to us semi-novices? Thx!
It’s essentially a full court press. In this case, your goalie is required to come out and guard. It takes having a goalie who can move in the open field. It’s playing 10 on 10 when the other team is trying to clear, as opposed to keeping your goalie in and playing. 9-10.
It’s risky. It leaves the goal open. We will see it today. Do t be surprised if you see denfensemen taking shots at the open goal from our defensive side.
If I was a coach and had the athleticism to do this, I’d do it all day.
