Miami picks coach today then we are on the clock!

The important thing is for RU to get the right person for this job. If it takes a while, then it takes a while. We've seen what rushing into decisions can lead to.

It sucks that Hobbs had 1 day to prepare for his search. While other AD's had years.

The problem is people will take other jobs that we might of been able to get. No one is waiting for Rutgers before they make their move.

We've got the real Rutgers Al as our fallback option lol. nobody is hiring him and he would still be an upgrade over Flood.

If GS gets the Miami job, Richt, Davis, and Mullin will probably all pass on RU and look at Virginia or Maryland for a major pay-day. Ruhl from all indications seems cool to the RU job and very hot to be the PSU man someday. So it could be down to Golden and Cristibol with a slight edge to Golden with longer odds of Diaco, Babers, and Moglia still in consideration. If GS doesn't get the U ................

This sums up part of the problem. We would have been a much more attractive landing spot after 2013. We are "selling low," so to speak.

I don't agree with this statement "Richt, Davis, and Mullin will probably all pass on RU and look at Virginia or Maryland for a major pay-day."
Rutgers has a higher ceiling than Virginia and is equal to Maryland. Willingness to pay these types of salaries will prove that RU has finally become serious and following come into play. Best recruiting of the three, NYC media coverage, etc.

Great 4 more years of mediocre coaching with Golden or Christoball, Has anyone noticed NOBODY else is looking at them? Not Syracuse not Virginia, Just Rutgers, Disappointing if we go in this direction.

Don't forget Mullan you guys, he has been poking around, it looks like he doesn't want to be at Miss State anymore. We have enough money to get a high end HC and staff maybe not enough to outbid Under Armor but enough to get someone with STAIN (whatever the hell that means).

I don't get people putting the Maryland job ahead of Virginia.

That is crazy talk.

In the right hands, the Virginia job has every bit the upside.

Better recruiting grounds, better school, better location, easier road to a play-off and/or NYs Day bowl game and they will pay.

I'm not advocating for Golden here, but he is exactly the person who would clean our clock in recruiting if he landed at UVA. Al Groh used to drive recruits out of Jersey by the van full...who was the lead recruiter? Al Golden...

Maryland has the potential to be the non-boonies version of Oregon. They fit the "sleeping giant" bill more than we do.

From the Miami board

## The UM job is Mark Richt’s if he wants it, sources say. But UM was impressed with Greg Schiano during his Sunday interview, and Manny Navarro and I hear that Schiano has been studying UM’s roster and recruits and soliciting input on what assistants to keep if he gets the job.

Tennessee Titans quarterback coach John McNulty, who’s close with Schiano, would be a logical choice for offensive coordinator if Schiano is hired. But UM would only turn to Schiano (or Dan Mullen or someone else) if Richt turns them down.

One UM official ranked Schiano second on UM’s list behind Richt, because some key UM people remain uncomfortable with hiring Butch Davis, though Davis has not been ruled out. Some others put Mullen second.

### The Davis interview "had to be done" to appease the masses and hear what he had to say, one UM official said.

Davis is willing to help UM in fundraising if he gets the job and has been working on putting together a quality staff. One close associate said he has interest in bringing back former UM coach/defensive coordinator Randy Shannon, UF's associate head coach. But it's unclear if Shannon would consider that.

The problem with Davis, one UM official said, is that "he has a lot of baggage."

It's not the North Carolina academic scandal that concerns UM as much as his hiring of John Blake, who was found by the NCAA to have accepted payments from deceased agent Gary Wichard, as our Susan Miller Degnan notes.
