This has to hurt, losing your expected starter at center as well as the leader of your O Line.

I wonder if they lost anyone else off of their O Line from last year.

Does that mean that Notre Dame's Matt Hegarty goes to Ann Arbor? He decided to leave Notre Dame for another school.

Totally just brainstorming and throwing out thoughts here, but maybe he has some lingering injuries and does not want to play this season and aggravate it to the point he has to deal with pain for the rest of his life.
And after watching how Michigan handled their prized QB Shane Morris after his concussion and threw him back into the game where he could have been injured even MORE must not be too comforting for anyone else on the team.
Hope this guy does well though in the future.
