Minnie Minoso was a great ball player. Spent most of his career with White Sox. Could do it all-- hit, hit with power, steal, run the bases, field, bunt, you name it. Belongs in the Hall of Fame. Always believed so.

My brother and I would take a 1 hour subway ride from East New York, Brooklyn to 161st Bronx to watch many Yankee games from the early 60s on. Minnie Minoso, along with Rocky Colavito , Al Kaline, Norm Cash, & Harmon Killebrew were probably our favorite out of town players. Along with Walt 'No Neck' Williams , lol. I just saw an Ellie Howard piece on YES this morning, man was he a great guy too !

He played for the Cardinals in the Mets first ever game.

He moved pretty well when I saw him at the Vet for an Old Timers Day game in 1987.

Abro, I have an old buddy in NYC who I used to work with. Tomorrow without fail I will receive an email about Minnie. He and I are both from the baseball card generation when the game was god.. I think he played an inning when he was in his 50's or 60's with the pale hose..

I remember Minoso from when I started following baseball at 7 or so as a Yankee fan. I was always amazed at how many HBP's he had. He was a fine ballplayer.

Right camden. He got hit almost a couple of hundred times in his career, if I'm not mistaken.
