Just curious is the Monmouth bench did any antics today.

Anyone notice?
Thanks

It is funny when you watch clips, but so phony being at the game.

I suppose
It does, however, get people talking about them, and that advertising has to be good for recruiting.
I was watching NFL Network last night, and even they were talking about them. I think it was Deion. When was the last time Deion mentioned RUTGERS basketball?

All this pub from the media whether you like it or not could work to Monmouth's advantage if they have a 24-25 win season and don't win the conference tourney.

They could grab one of the last At-Large spots .

At least they are not digging up our past with skits...
Dodge ball
Naked free throws
Sit ins
Or the elevator.

They could be worse, but material us good natured fun

its actually pretty lame and you really don't notice it in a close game...that fact that its scripted rather than spontaneous confirms its lame status

Absolutely agree. Their profile is much higher now and not just because of the string of good non-conference wins. The thought occurred to me that if we had won yesterday, it could've come up as a "bad loss" for them if they are on the bubble in March. ("How can you give Monmouth an at-large bid over (insert a bubble B1G team here) when they lost to a Rutgers team that finished (insert bad record here) in the B1G?")

It's going to be great when a team with some pride and a mean streak address this as the repeated showboating it is.

That will be great to watch.
Just what do you think a team with some pride and a mean streak will do? Start throwing punches? That would not be great to watch. Or blow out Monmouth on the court? Who are they going to play that is better than what they've faced to this point? Their next two games are at Cornell and at Army. Who is the best MAAC team, if it's not them? Yeah, they will likely lose more games in the regular season at some point, but I don't see them getting run off the floor.

Saw a few minor antics from their bench, but nothing like the elaborate one we've seen in clips. Could have missed some though

Yes, I'm hoping for punches because while it might be cute it's ultimately showboating.

The fact that the idiots in the media will be shocked and horrified by it will make it that much sweeter since their coverage of it has been so universally positive and encouraging of it.

Sorry if this opinion is unpopular but:

haha I agree....the media is glorifying this and actually egging it on

and I disagree with the poster above, Monmouth is getting attention because they are a small school with some major upset wins. The bench is just a sideshow. If they were not winning games of note, no one woud care about the sidelines

I saw the ref warning the bench with his arms to sit down. I had to remind myself to look a few times.

Can't say for sure....does the comeback really occur if the RAC isn't loud?

If it weren't for Monmouths antics the place is half full and quiet.

In addition, they are going to see the best from conference opponents.

24-25 win season? I think we may be jumping the gun a little here with this team. I think the rest of the MAAC would like to play the games first. Honestly, I know we are bad, but I don't think that team is a 24-25 win team.

saw this too... and to answer the question about what a team with a mean streak or pride would do..there were a couple of times I thought a good hard foul on #12 Robinson would have been appropriate after his "stirring the pot" moment.

A word or two pre-game like "do that $hit you better not come into this game".... sorry. i am old school too. Not in my house needs to mean NOT IN MY HOUSE.
