Kind of funny you listed all negative events. Why no positive ones like Louisville game, Ray Rice Heisman hype , 76 final four team etcThis will be fun, saw the idea on twitter.
What do you think is the most "Rutgers" Rutgers moment/event/person in the history of the Athletic Department.
Here are some ideas:
1995- UMASS (4) basketball game suspended due to "sit in". (Rutgers was leading at the half when the protest started and the game was suspended). Rutgers lost the made-up game.
2010- Fred Hill Jr. fired for heckling the Pittsburgh baseball team.
2012- Mike Rice Video
2013-2015- Julie Hermann (enough said)
2014- Ray Rice video emerges (I know he was not at Rutgers, but still impacted the athletic department and reputation).
2015- Kyle Flood secretly meets with a professor, trying to disguise his identity regarding grades.
What else can you nominate?
That was the point of the OP.. that was why "Rutgers" was in quotes. Its the whole "Same Old Rutgers" thing. **But if Clemson could stop "Clemsoning"... Rutgers can turn it around too.Kind of funny you listed all negative events. Why no positive ones like Louisville game, Ray Rice Heisman hype , 76 final four team etc
Never saw that coming. Guess I am not up the verbiage.LOL thanks for inoThat was the point of the OP.. that was why "Rutgers" was in quotes. Its the whole "Same Old Rutgers" thing. **But if Clemson could stop "Clemsoning"... Rutgers can turn it around too.
**note that it took the right coach to stop "Clemsoning". And since our QB, HC, AD and Prez have all had their own "Same Old Rutgers" moments.. one could guess that we don't have the right people on board.
2007, we went into the game ranked #10 against Maryland. We have a great defensive stand late in the 4th quarter and they call Eric Foster for a penalty for doing the chop. Automatic 1st down and seals the game for Maryland. Complete bull$&@t
Clemson always wanted to get back to their winning ways. They just couldn’t find the right formula. Rutgers never wins and the Administration will do whatever it takes to make sure athletics never becomes prominent enough to lend it gravitas. Any winning is purely accidental. That was the point of the OP.. that was why "Rutgers" was in quotes. Its the whole "Same Old Rutgers" thing. **But if Clemson could stop "Clemsoning"... Except he never said that. He said that it is not important to recruits. And he was not exactly wrong. Recruits care of winning, program prestige, playing time, facilities- Ash saying that he doesn't think being the birthplace of college football really matters... the day before the university puts out a press release kicking off the 150th anniversary celebration of the first college football game.

How could you not be biased against them after seeing all the nonsense over the years? They certainly seem biased & I guess you're one of them. But Julie’s behavior in that era didn’t say anything about her?
It seems you’re very biased against the media.
Julie made a joke & the media acted like it was a national emergency
What nonsense over the years?
Again, you only will consider news “nonsense” if you’re biased.

No, he's right ... the local news media is insanely biased against Rutgers University. A large portion of it is negative news sells (so that's all they ever print or write about), a smaller portion is general NJ self-loathing, and even smaller portion is many local sports journalists attended Syracuse's journalism school (and/or didn't attend Rutgers).
There is plenty about Rutgers to be critical of, but when they criticize Rutgers, they almost always go comically overboard ... and many times they are unfairly critical of those deserving praise (a perfect example being when they went after Uncle Bob).
