Yes, he could have caught that ball cleanly and dunked it then, or possibly immediately after when he got control of the ball. But I hate to see us putting the outcome on him.

Here’s a redshirt freshman center playing at a high level in arguably the best major conference top to bottom, where one of the “bottom” teams, PSU, is playing like a world beater right now.

Big game in March and the kid stepped up big time. We’re not even in a position to win without his performance last night. Sure, I wish to hell he could make a foul shot, but what’s Tez’s excuse? What’s Geo’s excuse for his 0 for 10 night (0-7 from the arc)?

A hobbled junior forward and three freshmen —McConnell, Harper and Johnson— led the charge and gave us a chance to win last night. Give the kids credit. I saw the look on Johnson’s face at the end. He wants that chance back so bad he can taste it. I say good for you Myles. Go get it and next time you will crush it.

Myles had the tip in that got it to 66-65 and he also had a key block the next possesion that ultimately led to Ru having the ball with a minute left. He was 11/10 for the night. Couldnt convert at the end but he will learn that he is capable of making that play and does not have to defer.

No blame for Myles last night as he was one that got us there. It was a team effort in the loss..all done in by unfocused effort and the wrong mindset in the first half.

That’s the saddest part. It was Myles who really sparked that comeback, him and Ron Harper. Would have been just storybook for him to finish it off with the exclamation. Fell so bad he’s just a great great kid. He’ll have so many great moments here though, he future is bright

Announcers were raving about Miles' defense on back to back PSU possessions which put us in a position to possibly win. Without those plays, PSU probably scores putting game out of reach.

I agree with everything but the second clause in your first sentence. I think that once Myles did not catch the ball cleanly, the two Penn State bigs had a chance to recover, and he was too close to the baseline to easily make a move. Passing the ball out was the right move. Caleb actually made a great pass to him but he was looking for the follow rather than the pass.

I can buy that. In fact I mentioned it in another post, that Myles may have been too far under the basket once he got control of the ball, and he may have wanted to avoid getting fouled. So he passed it out to an open guy. Not the worst decision in that spot.
