Name a few realistic candidates if EJ doesn't survive

Proven to do what?
Winning at a mid major is totally different than winning at RU.
Winning at a NC State has little relevance to winning here.

Winning at RU takes a special person. a lot of different skill sets needed to win here. If the candidate misses 1 they fail.
1. X and O
2. talent evaluator
3. marketing--selling the program..someone who can formulate and implement a vision
4. unbelievable passion and energy
5. delegator and leader

Arizona State and North Carolina State plus winning at a mid major. Being 2nd and 3rd banana to Basketball Royality, i.e., Arizona, Duke and North Carolina and still winning!
Winning at a Mid Major helps. Assistant coach at Kentucky and the Northeast at Providence helps. Great X and O's. Great passion and energy getting another chance like Rick Barnes at Tennessesse. Ultimate delegator and leader.

RU had best effort of year tonight.

Eddie is going nowhere. $$$$

All this talk is silly.....Jordan will be back with a full roster next year. Talk of transiting to a new coach starts in 2 years when Jordan will be 65 and after Sanders, Laurent, Williams, Freeman, Doorson, Thiam, Dailey and Nigel Johnson lead Rutgers to it's first NCAA bid in 30 years. It will be ironic that the last bid was when Jordan was on the staff and the next one will be with him as Head Coach....."and a Rutgers man will lead them ".

PS....next year they taste post season with a NIT bid.

Why would you ever consider replacing a coach that has lost 25 conference games in a row. Preposterous.

You may be right but what about his contract? He's at the point of needing an extension or recruiting will be affected.

Okay...if he does not get it done next year with a full roster and Sanders, Freeman and Laurent leading the way then the discussion can start about a transition If a 4th year coach does not have an extension beyond year 5, what is the impact on recruiting? Will recruits really know that an extension has not been granted? Will it really harm recruiting? Will opposing coaches use it?

No one is saying Jordan is a long term or even a medium term solution....after all, he is approaching 65......so a transition is coming soon.

BS teams don't go from 6 or 7 wins to 18-19 wins in one year. Do you see how hard it is for Northwestern and Penn State and Minnesota to move up in this league and they are signing better talent. Not to mention Illinois who used to be a powerhouse and has fallen backward big time but still won tonight. The move from the bottom isn't easy and you just became absurd with your statement..only shills think that a team with a 25 game conference losing streak and 5-32 record is suddenly going to win 18 games in a season

The guy I have on ignore said something.....let me guess..... blah, blah, blah, negative, negative, negative, same MO, same MO, same MO.

Not a positive or optimistic bone in his body....what a horrible existence....smh

I guess my issue isn't if Jordan comes back or not. Rutgers has done stupid things before and could very well do this. My issue is how certain folks think this is a crazy concept to discuss.

No one says it is not a crazy concept...things happen.......BUT, I do know this...ruman and bac saying it over and over is getting REALLY OLD AND BORING....especially, when they cannot do anything to influence events one way or the other. It's just repetitive nonsense and it's silly

Said the most repetitive nonsensical poster on the board.

I would actually read his post. It is probably the most salient, well thought out post, that I've seen today.

If you win a game, it would stop for a night. Losing 25 straight is hard to do.

This thread is about a coaching change. thats why I bring it up.

I respond to those that beat the drum of negativity and say the same thing over and over again. They will NOT and can NOT influence anything Hobbs may or may not do. So....the repetition is old and boring.

If Hobbs makes a change I will support the new coach 1000%. Until that day comes....pushing for it n this board is silly....all it does is "crowd out" real basketball discussion and I like real basketball discussion.
