Need Better Players

i think we win both games this week at home..guys played decent at michigan state and coming home against two good opponents will give us and our fans some juice..we always play better at home and I think we will see our guys and Pike put up our best effort in both games...most important week of the year.
If they keep hoisting bricks then the crowd will not have much juice

Yes. Can control the offense, defends MUCH better, and can get to the rim easier and with both his left and right hand. Has his three point shot gotten better? Probably not, but there is a lot he does better and more confidently now than he did as a freshman.
This is the guy who falls in love with his step back 3s right? When does he ever drive to the basket? I find the control the offense comment amusing. Someone said that about BM too. Our biggest issue is that we have no offense.

Well, first off, he leads the team in assists with over 4 per game. His freshman year he had 2 and a half per game. Improvement. And a sign he controls the offense.

He also leads the team with 1.6 steals per game as opposed to 1.1 his freshman year.

He's shooting 62.5% from inside the 3 pt line on 40 attempts. His freshman year, he shot under 40% from inside the two. He's getting in the lane more than he did his freshman year.

He takes a lot of threes. Yes. He hasn't gotten hot from 3 yet. But he has improved from year 1 to now.

The questions was whether or not he's improved. He has.

If shooters coming off the off-ball screens would just time things a bit better, we'd have some better looks.

It seems like by the ball the is reversed and swung over to them, they've been standing around long enough for the defense to recover.

That's the equivalent to a receiver running a button hook route and the pass getting delivered late.

Wrong. Just to start - Eugene, Baker, Corey, McConnell, Harper (yes....did you watch the chubby kid who just shot 3’s in HS?), etc

As mentioned in this thread, we need that one stud (at least) to go to in crunch time.

You mean the chubby kid who almost single handedly beat the #1 team in the state Roselle Catholic in the state final? Another game or 2 like he played like that and we would not have been able to keep him coming to Rutgers

Best of Luck,
Groz

This is clearly a tough week and I dont think it is fair to judge the team after a loss to #11 in their gym. With that said, win or lose, I would like to see a "smoother" running offense at some point during these 3 games. Watching a limited offensive player like Carter fumble the ball in the low post is one thing but I can't stand watching a weave where the 2nd man is left standing flat footed at the top of the key waiting for the next player to arrive. That is coaching.

The guy who was meant to be the central component to our offense, and a lightening rod leading the emotional charge, ups and leaves in the middle of the night.. the guy Pike was depending on to anchor the team.. and people still act as if they are clueless about “a missing piece” and “needing that one guy”...

So these roles are to magically fix themselves? Gimme a break. Pike is working with what he has and the guys are grinding. You don’t just replace a guy who meant to a program what EU meant to Rutgers in 1/10 of a recruiting cycle.

You guys are way off. Our players are decent. If you don't like them than follow another team. We hung with Michigan State on the road for almost the entire game and they are the # 11 team in the country and were rated # 1 when the season started. Not every player is perfect every game. We only had 11 turnovers tonight. If you cannot see the improvement Steve has brought to RU in 3 years plus 9 games you are lost. Some of you must live your lives to be critical.
Oh I didn't realize we are patting ourselves on the back for poor losses now..yay

Tell me again how Geo can't get to the rim.
