News: Rutgers is finalizing an agreement to face…

Princeton has a half court offense that is difficult to defend .They spread the court and dribble drive to the basket or pass to the corners for open 3 pointers.Cliff was out played by the Princeton center in last seasons game. This upcoming game Bailey and Harper can dominate on offense because of their ability to create and make shots.I think Rutgers will win this game.
Helps us against NW, Wiscy, teams with different tempos in NCAA tourney.
Firmly believe playing Princeton helped us play Georgetown in Big East days.
Win win. A good win for eye test and never a bad loss.
Looks good academically too!

Not a fan at all of this at all. We should be playing Princeton at the RAC, or in a 2/1.

Newark games should only be reserved for big draws where we would nearly sell the place out and need much more capacity than the RAC. This game won’t do that imo.

I hope all the folks who don’t have season tickets hop on this game to see Dylan and Ace…but I don’t think the crowed is more than 10-12K.

I would be happy with 10-12k for this.

12k days before XMas is a great crowd.

It’s not like playing a noon game at MSG. Because they want to drive up attendance…

Oh wait….

So I’m guessing you don’t like neutral site games, I wasn’t sure. Forgive me, I’m new here.

Maybe not outplayed, but he let Martini leak out for a couple of late open 3s that broke Rutgers. He also let Caden Pierce abuse him on the boards.
I'm confused, if Martini was on Cliff and vice versa how did Pierce abuse him?
Cliff and Wolf combined for 22 and 11 (11 for 17 shooting) in 45 min. Pierce and Martini for 18 and 17 (8 for 18 shooting) in 64 minutes. Ill take the first set of production/efficiency. Guards are why that game was lost.

Pearce abusing him because Cliff didn’t establish position and let Pearce throw him out of the way like a rag doll on multiple occasions. If Cliff had boxed out at worst he would have been fouled, but he didn’t do that.

And Martini broke the game open with his two threes, and again, Cliff was out of position coming way late to try and defend instead of staying on his man.

Cliffs role in our defense was to protect the rim, having an opposing center go outside to hit a three or two isn't really a failure on his part, it happens. His two threes did beak game open, but don't blame Cliff for letting a guy who had done nothing prior to get outside. Game 1, scouting report wasn't you must stay glued to Martini, he'd never even played 15 min a game in prior seasons, had he?

I don’t like giving up home conference games to neutral sites. Competitive disadvantage.

We haven’t done all that well at neutral site venues.

If idea at MSG two years ago was to get more fans to see RU, noon is the worst possible time. B1G late announcement of game was unseemly. Arbitrariness seems unfair. We certainly did not make up for it last year.

I would have taken a 2-1 with Princeton rather than the Pru. Easy enough for RU to fill Jadwin. Like the series with Princeton. Glad we are playing them and Pru is fine. Weekend before XMas is tough attendance wise IMHO.

As a long time season tix holder for decades, who sat though some horrific hoops, we finally have possibly a great team, to then give away games to neutral sites, while perhaps necessary, is a bit frustrating. We are giving away home games.

Likewise we have made the RAC into one of the great home court arenas to not use it or to add luxury boxes defeats the very thing we have built.

I don’t think the RAC or 2/1 are options Princeton would agree to. Sounds like Princeton filled in the Arkansas game.

I thought 2/1 was option but RU preferred Neutral Site.
Just glad not first game either. That I would have never agreed.

Bumping with this article. I’m actually feeling better about this game - hating it less. Big time programs don't avoid natural rivalry games and are generally willing to play them on neutral sites. Villanova is mentioned in the article but it’s not just them. Not every school has a local “little brother rival” like this but most of the ones that do, historically agree to play games like this in basketball.

its a completely stupid idea to play this game there

I personally don't understand anyone who thinks we should not play Princeton because we might lose

They are not some powerhouse program that is beyond us

If we can't win here and now with this, then don't expect a really good season otherwise

You can argue when, and where to play, but stop being so afraid

Plus it’s not like they have some huge local fan base. The Rock will still be a home crowd. Just like the Garden was. Just a lot more of us.

All i remember about that game was in the first ten minutes when Gavin Griffiths on defense looked like that blind kid playing football

The only caveat I'd add to this.....just don't play them the 1st few games of the year.
