Nice gift for lacrosse and soccer. 15 million

Not sure how you got there when what I said was that previous Rodkin donations highlighted in the article were primarily all focused on academics. Therefore, the Rutgers Foundation staff has done a great job, and now Hobbs' team has done a great job with the Rodkins on the athletics side.
Ah, missed that.

I think where the old kid's zone was is the area that will disappear. I don't think those drawings are very accurate...How could we replace
any parking places if we lose a lot of yellow and blue?

should build roof top parking and sell that lot for high end fee...roof top tailgate with panoramic view would be awesome! (kidding on first part of course)

Thank you to the Rodkins!

Hobbs and the development team are doing a fabulous job. Hard to believe it has only been a couple of years since Pat took over.
I've always said the 2 most important of jobs of the AD are fundraising and hiring coaches. I was ambivalent about Hobbs when he first got hired.

He's done a great job fundraising and it matters even more specifically because we're not a place with a great history of it and he's taking it to unprecedented levels for us. Because of this I've said in the past even if he misses on some hires, he gets a few passes in my opinion because the fundraising has been very good for a school with our lack of history of it.

Hobbs salary is well worth whatever Rutgers is paying him. Not only is he really popular with the students and with donors, and those students will become future donors once they are established in their careers.

There have never been a time when we had this level of giving in this short period of time.

Space is extremely limited in that area.
There will be a significant reduction of parking spots in the Blue Lot.
The upgrade in Facilities far outweighs this alteration

I'm thinking "ToddFather Stadium" isn't far off (okay, one can dream...)!!!
There was a plan awhile back to reach out to our higher profile pro’s for naming opportunities.

Not sure how that part is moving along ?

I thought a recent Hobbs interview had him stating the goal was $115 million vs. 100 million but I could be mistaken. Clearly the RAC facility was expanded to include the sports medicine facilities and this building is being expanded to include the academic support component. I don't know if we are taking on debt or increasing the goal because we are certainly building more than originally planned.

Not that it really matters. This round led to 3 key pieces of the puzzle. I would love to see Hobbs ride the wave so to speak and come out with phase 2 within the next 12 months or so. We got big gifts of $15, $5, $18 and $25 from the state. That's 68% of all money from 4 donations and a decent chunk of the remaining $29 million from the $100k crowd. I have to believe another $50 million could be raised in the next 3 years if the $100k - $1m level donation crowd and the alumni start to get engaged.

Looks like it's replacing this:
http://www.rutgersbigtenbuild.com/lacrosse-soccer-training-complex/index.html

With a bigger building. Going to be honest, not sure how great an idea this is locationwise; High Point is not the easiest part of campus to get to via the bus system. I can tell you from experience that getting there when it's raining or snowing, or god forbid on a weekend from other campuses isn't fun or easy. But I suppose it's good for Football, lacrosse, soccer, and swim, and they'll keep what they already have at the RAC.
This is something I didn't notice until looking at the renderings a little closer. In the new renderings the building is three levels, not two as the floor plans on the B1G Build website show. Perhaps a whole floor is being dedicated to academic support.

Could someone clarify what the area is on the other side of the new building as that is fenced in like the Football training facility? Is that next to Yurcak and part of this plan?

Bye bye Blue Lot?

(justed wanted to be first - lol)

This. Is. Awesome....on so many levels.

Here's what I'd do for parking:

1. Use the new Soccer/LAX paved lot and the paved Lot 53A behind Yurcak as a much smaller blue lot.

2. Expand light blue to the 3 or 4 lots off Bevier Rd (Lots 58, 58A, 58B, 58C).

3. Expand light tan by converting the Biomedical and Health Science game day cash lots (Lots A, B, C) to season ticket lots (and cash lots).

Edit: that would be the new lax practice field replacing that front portion of the blue lot, so yes it is next to/in front of Yurcak. So it would appear to be part of this plan inasmuch as building the new facility and its parking lot will result in relocation of existing practice fields.

Here is a picture from On The Banks and their take on things. Obviously the renditions may not be accurate at all.

Miller Family Soccer Complex?

Edit: oh, yeah, the current soccer practice fields must be named as such.

Hope the Miller Family doesn't mind that it'll be relocated...I imagine Hobbs has communicated and has buy-in already.
