I could see us winning 9-10 out of conference games and making a run down the stretch in conference play

I have a really good feel about this team

Lots of speed, energy, and discipline that had been missing

Way too early. Have to see what RU looks like in Big 10 play

We have only played 3 games. Let's wait until the season is almost over before thinking about the NIT. I am still amazed that many guys thought we would only win 6 or 7 in the OOC. We must stay healthy and focused. If we can do both we should win at least 10 of the 13 games.

Have to win our home games. Let's see about the NIT. It would be a nice benchmark.

I'll bite a

I expect our RPI to be not great...so we probably need to be 12-1 OOC to compensate a little...

Think 7-11 in big ten play as well...and 1-1 in Big10 Tourney

20-13 should get us in the NIT

19-14...iffy

don't think 18-15 get us a NIT bid

.

Lets see how the Miami game goes before we really judge how we play.

FIG,

I will take 200-1 odds on $10. Do you have any odds on the NCAA while you are at it? LOL

Best of Luck,

NIT is much different than it was when we used to go. The past 2 years, only 2 teams have made it with 17 wins. All others were 18+. That'll be a tall task this season, but if we can find a shooting stroke, not impossible.

NIT talk might be getting ahead of ourselves. Let's just play this year out and see. Could it happen? Yes. But probably need 20 wins based on our reputation or lack thereof.

Screw the NIT, NCAA bound....

Why not!

I'll think positive about the chances until chances end.
Rught now even doping for wins to be enough for a spot on dance card.
Dount that will happen, but right now RU's undefeated and so will my hope :D

Simmer down now..not to be a wet blanket but RU will have to have 18 regular season wins to sniff NIT which would mean 7 or 8 conference wins...not happening

You never know. This team has the potential to get much better. They're still getting used to playing with each other. We can rebound, we play D, and we have 2 legit ball handlers. If Corey and Nigel can somehow start hitting jumpers from the top of they key- we will be in alot of close games. I think we only win 15 games though

I think a 19-15 is the very minimum to get us in the NIT(which means 2 wins in the B1G tourney). We also need to win some big games in there.

Humbly don't think we're NIT ready yet......if core comes back next year - then most definitely.

I agree with most it will take 7 conference wins minimum...

However we really lucked out this year in the schedule.....It may be the easiest schedules we will ever see in this conference, and actually easier than many of the schedules we had in the Big East....

The five worst teams besides us, PSU, Northwestern, Illinois, Minnesota, and Nebraska....ALL FIVE are at the RAC....

Plus two of the teams above, PSU and Northwestern, we get home and homes....I think PSU will be particularly bad this year as they get their freshman experience...think about the year we had all the freshmen....

We need to win 6 out of those 7 plus one big upset to get to 7 wins. and it isn't 7 out of 7 we need an upset win against a really good team to be considered for the postseason with the bad OOC schedule

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Fans were forecasting doom for our team before the season. Most of you had little or no hope. Several of us predicted 10-3 for the OOC but most did not. We have won the first 3 but the teams we played are not exactly really good teams. I doubt many people are as thrilled with the start as I have been as I have been a loyal fan since 1971 and have suffered for years. I think we will have a good OOC as long as we stay healthy but the BIG is another league all together. We should not be predicting the NIT at this point. Let's just play one game at a time and enjoy the season. I would be thrilled with a winning record as Pikiell and his staff have the kids working really hard. They seem to be light years better than last year but I think knowing many of our posters if we lose one game they will again start ripping us. WE need to keep winning and improving and staying focused and get ourselves into the top 80 or so to have a chance for any NIT bid. That is still a long way away. If we start thinking too far ahead we will probably lose a game that we should not lose.

if we are going to pine for the NIT then we should be thinking about getting to the NCAA--there isn't that much of a difference in team quality.

I'm thrilled with how we've looked so far, but I don't think we're making either

As far as I am concerned we are heading in the right direction. An exciting season ending in any tournament, even the CBI would be a step in the right direction.

Maybe it's because the football team is having a tough year, but this is the first time in a long time that I actually look forward to watching basketball. This team, though only 3 games in, looks so much bigger, more athletic and better-coached than last year. What is even better is that Pikiell is the real deal and he will look for continuous improvement throughout the season. Not getting the hopes too high, but you gotta be very optimistic for the future, even for this season.

The key to an NIT bid is getting Corey to come back for his Jr. year. This year will hopefully build towards that.

As I've said many times, "At least we have B-Ball".
1/2 BB anyhow (men). Just enjoy the excitement and not get carried away. If we could have penciled in a 14 win season, everybody would have been ecstatic and now we have 3 wins. For us these ooc games are important because we have a better chance of racking up some wins than later. An extra win or 2 might give you a small edge at the end of the season.
Also, this group will have a chance to learn how to play together before B1G play and will definitely get better. So far things are looking up and there is enthusiasm again about BB.
To be continued...........

If we somehow have one of our guys develop a consistent 3 pt shot ( Myles Mack-ish ) I think we can knock on the NIT door but I think 18 wins may be the need to succeed.
