Nothing is set in stone, and that is okay. Players are under no moral obligation to maintain continuity for the entertainment and pleasure of the fans if they get better NIL offers from other schools. We all have to adjust to the new reality that team rosters will change dramatically every year. It's not the end of the world.
It's just unregulated free market capitalism at work.

I honestly don't get this point of view. The fan base of programs have always determined the success or failure of those sports including coach salaries. Only difference now is the money goes directly to the athletes in many cases and not only to buildings, facilities, seat licenses, coaches and behind the scenes to families. Successful programs that sustain have had large benefactor fanbases who pay for things.
Everything was fine when it was "We want to fire HC Flood or HC Ash but need fans to pony up the money." But now it's a problem when it's "We want to get elite recruits, but the fans to pony up the money."
Can you imagine the Giants saying "We want to fire HC Judge but don't have the money. We need Giants fans to donate and fund the buyout. Also, we need fans to pay for HC Daboll or else he won't come here."
I wonder if the Loyola fans or their message board reacted this way when Spencer transferred to RU? Lol things don't always go your way, and such is life. Adapt...

I don’t Remember any time having to donate any money to pro sports. I have always paid for tickets, maybe a PSL, and whatever I wanted to eat/drink. A school like Rutgers should for the first time ever be ahead of the curve and start directing all donations to NIL instead. Have the school start footing every bill for capital expenditures and scholarships. Start running it like a Pro business before anyone else. Consider

Absolutely Hawk. Some can't seen it. No one should be that busted up over a kid who transferred in, now transferring out. At G'Town, he will be a guaranteed big minutes man. Maybe not here next year. At very least, he would have stiff competition. Maybe he didn't wanna be bothered in his farewell appearance. Take a lil bit of green and run, ya know?

NIL is a blight, no doubt. But the over-reaction to Rutgers getting nicked a little is comical. At least the power conferences have the ability to compete. Meanwhile the mid majors are getting destroyed.

The situation sucks and that’s what people are saying but I don’t see any one “over-reacting”
I think people here realize that RU seems to have benefited from NIL (ace Bailey) but at the same time, it seems, with cam leaving we got nicked.
Overall, is RU in a better situation with or without NIL. Personally I’m not sure. And frankly, even if Rutgers ends up, on balance, benefiting in a huge way from NIL I still wont like it.
I understand that the old transfer rules and the rules against kids benefitting from their name-image-likeness weren’t fair. But the resulting “solution” is …. essentially no rules whatsoever.

It is entirely reasonable that people don’t like what’s going on in college sports right now.
We lost this kid because of NIL money. Unless things change he won’t be the last player we lose. Money talks and everything else does not. Would you leave your job if another one gave you 25 or 50 grand more a year? Of course you would. This fanbase is high on opinion but low on getting it done $$$ and to win. Not enough of us are participating in anything other than opinions on these boards. Other fanbases are doing it while we talk about losing a key player to Georgetown.
Why funny? If they have money to give him that we can’t raise that’s enough of a reason. Atlanta is a great city warm year round as well. Some people get out of NJ and like it. I don’t mean Pennsylvania because they can’t afford NJ. Lots of worse places to be than Atlanta Georgia for a year.

The CE Trash always sticks up for each other. If GEO or any parent or player ventures over to the Current Events board and and see’s that trash it would not be good. Some may think that all Rutgers people are like that. A board to spout hate 24/7 under a fake screen name.
