Peace loserI rarely post much anymore on these boards and hardly ever comment on recruiting or commitment threads. I am numb to any individual joining or leaving a program as my level of emotional investment to Rutgers athletics could not be lower.
The current state of college athletics is not sustainable. There will be casualties and that is probably necessary to get some belts and suspenders around a new paradigm for college athletics.
In what rationale and well designed sport is it the responsibility of the fans to directly compensate "students" for their athletic participation at a particular institution? Where else does the fan base determine the success or failure of a particular sport or athletic program overall by how much money they give? Why do we need to pay HC's and Assistants large salaries if its all about the fans bag filling ability?
Honestly I am shocked that RU basketball has the 2024 recruiting class it has lined up. Lets see how many sign and make it here. Those who think Ace, Dylan and the other commits are locked down may be in for a let down.
Seriously thisThere is always another shoe with Rutgers sports.
We were riding too high.
You're too emotional.....the staff made a call on Spencer, he's not more valuable than the players here. If he asked for NIL and got a better offer, then the evidence says otherwise.
We have 4 guards and Mulcahy on the fence to come back or not. If it was Mulcahy or Spencer, my guess is Mulcahy won out on where the staff decided to go.
Mulcahy can play multiple positions
Spencer cannot.....
Griffiths can replace Spencer and play multiple positions, Spencer cannot.
Simpson can play multiple positions, Spencer cannot.....
Davis is a combo guard and Fernandes can shoot off the ball.
I am or would have been more concerned that we would have redshirted Davis, when he's talented enough to play right away.
Mulcahy is either back or not.
Nothing has changed, we need a 4/5 1st and foremost.
You really thing we are getting a 4/5? I thought that ship has sailed. I figured it’s Cliff and Woolfolk now. Is there anything other than Ralph Agee’s even left?"Nothing has changed, we need a 4/5 1st and foremost." AGREED.
Nothing is set in stone, and that is okay. Players are under no moral obligation to maintain continuity for the entertainment and pleasure of the fans if they get better NIL offers from other schools. We all have to adjust to the new reality that team rosters will change dramatically every year. It's not the end of the world.Times are changing and times suck nowadays. As they say root for the school and not the name on back of jersey. Be prepared for anything and try not to be too disappointed -- especially when you take as fact what " experts" tell you or predict. Nothing's set in stone.
why would you want him back? dude is in it for the money, he don't give a shit about RUIs it a definite Cam is gone? If it is about $ and someone steps up can be come back? Or has that ship sailed?
Supposedly we're hosting Georgetown in the Gavitt gamesIf it's Georgetown we can pay him a visit at St. Johns and Seton Hall games, just to say HELLO!

I honestly don't get this point of view. The fan base of programs have always determined the success or failure of those sports including coach salaries. Only difference now is the money goes directly to the athletes in many cases and not only to buildings, facilities, seat licenses, coaches and behind the scenes to families. Successful programs that sustain have had large benefactor fanbases who pay for things.
I don’t give a crap about the company I work for. I am in it for the money.why would you want him back? dude is in it for the money, he don't give a shit about RU
In college football the fan base has always determined who wins. Forever.I rarely post much anymore on these boards and hardly ever comment on recruiting or commitment threads. I don’t Remember any time having to donate any money to pro sports. I have always paid for tickets, maybe a PSL, and whatever I wanted to eat/drink. A school like Rutgers should for the first time ever be ahead of the curve and start directing all donations to NIL instead. Have the school start footing every bill for capital expenditures and scholarships. Start running it like a Pro business before anyone else. ConsiderYup. If Colleges have to morph to be more like the pros, than the rules of pro are established. The fans only contribute through indirect means of ticket, concension, parking and merchandise sales. 90% of the colleges will be done with college athletics at this level pretty quickly.
It’s actually so messed up that these schoolsI rarely post much anymore on these boards and hardly ever comment on recruiting or commitment threads. I am numb to any individual joining or leaving a program as my level of emotional investment to Rutgers athletics could not be lower.

College athletes should not get paid, That's it. Goodbye.
Well, that settles it.College athletes should not get paid, That's it. Goodbye.
Agreed. Let's GO ORIOLES!!! Young and hungry....Astros from 6-7 years backNIL has wrecked college sports. Its a different world now. Ive gotten more into pro sports recently. Pro sports teams dont hold me captive, I can just go enjoy games and not have to pay the players I watch
Absolutely Hawk. Some can't seen it. No one should be that busted up over a kid who transferred in, now transferring out. At G'Town, he will be a guaranteed big minutes man. Maybe not here next year. At very least, he would have stiff competition. Maybe he didn't wanna be bothered in his farewell appearance. Take a lil bit of green and run, ya know?Laughable spin
It's pretty sad when you have to think of players in terms of how much are they worth in dollars to your college basketball program! The current landscape of college basketball (NIL and portal) is really putting a hit on my enjoyment of the sport
I’m not gonna predict the long term impact - maybe the younger folks like this “free agency world” we are in right now - but personally I hate it
NIL is a blight, no doubt. But the over-reaction to Rutgers getting nicked a little is comical. At least the power conferences have the ability to compete. Meanwhile the mid majors are getting destroyed.
LMAO Georgia Tech. Woo boy thats funny for a multitude of reasons
Why funny? If they have money to give him that we can’t raise that’s enough of a reason. Atlanta is a great city warm year round as well. Some people get out of NJ and like it. I don’t mean Pennsylvania because they can’t afford NJ. Lots of worse places to be than Atlanta Georgia for a year.LMAO Georgia Tech. Woo boy thats funny for a multitude of reasons
Dawg Im not talking about Atlanta lol. What former RU assistant is now an assistant on GT? Its not rocket science to think if he does decide GT, or that its on the list of teams he might want to play for, maybe that assistant had a hand it?Why funny? Aw sticking up for your boyfriendVery lame post
You didn’t make a single point on the topic
The CE Trash always sticks up for each other. If GEO or any parent or player ventures over to the Current Events board and and see’s that trash it would not be good. Some may think that all Rutgers people are like that. A board to spout hate 24/7 under a fake screen name.Aw sticking up for your boyfriend
