As much as I hate Nova and still think Kansas was hosed against them, they played great basketball over their last few games...and like jenkins said postgame, I think we all knew that shot was going in as soon as he let it go.
No excuses but it would be interesting to see how the game would have played out if the refs didn't miss that blatantly obvious travel with 35 seconds left. What a time to forget how to do your job.

The irony of from fans of UNC, a college team who cheated for decades complaining about "the refs cheating" for Villanova, lol. Anyway, great shot by Kris Jenkins and congrats to Philly. They FINALLY have a champion other than Rocky Balboa.
I wouldn't call it as refs cheating...more like just failure to do the job you're paid for. I'm also seeing a lot more people than just unc fans talking about some of these calls on social. Taking 3 steps to work out your pivot foot and then taking a 4th step after that shouldn't have any relation to who people are rooting for. You can't really dispute it was a travel. It's just a bad no-call at a crucial point of the game that ended up benefiting Nova.
Great finish and clutch shots from both sides. I'm glad Nova won. I prefer seeing schools and coaches outside the "norm" win titles. I don't like seeing the top name programs and coaches win year after year and it's always nice to see someone else come in and bust up the party.

A bunch of Freshman and Sophs aren't leading Rutgers anywhere. This same group of Nova players had first round and second round exits when they were young. Good news is Hobbs and then after him Pat Lyons stuck with Willard for 6 years at SHU in the face of pretty much their entire fan base screaming for Willard's head. For the first time since Waters I think we are going to see an HC coach his 5th season at Rutgers. And that is a very good thing.

Other than the last shot I thought there were 3 key plays in the game.
Last 6 seconds of the first half when Hart blocked Jackson's layup which would have put NC up 9 and Nova gets a 2 at the buzzer to make it 5-------big for momentum and Nova walks off thinking that NC shot 7-9 from 3 and we're only down 5. We can do this.
2 missed FT's by Jackson at 2:45----you can't do that in that kind of game.
Non travel call on Booth----obvious travel and he ends up on the line sinking 2 .
