Beth Howland,who played waitress Vera on 1970's sitcom,Alice,died on December 31,2015,but her family did not report her death to the media until late last night,as per her wishes.

Loved Alice. Love the 70's sitcoms on CBS produced by Norman Lear. Not only good TV but tackled emerging social issues of the day & today too. That CBS Sunday prime time line-up was amazing: 60 Minutes, All in Fam, One Day at Time, Jeffersons, and Alice.

I watch MeTV now to catch them.

RIP Dingy.....that was about as great of a two hour block of tv you will ever find. ALlice was an underrated show. There was always something odd about Vera but great character
