Been a pleasant surprise so far thru 4 games. Not the fact that we are 4-0, but more so around how we have gotten to 4-0. Some observations as I watched every game so far:
- Team Depth (darn right I said it) is wearing down opponents. Each game starts around the same and is close - then at about 5 min mark of 1st half we really start to pull away and then build on that thru the second half
- Rebounding, rebounding, rebounding - I have seen more than just the stats of outrebounding our opponents - I have seen our guards making sure to help on rebounds, I have seen more guys diving in first four games then in the Eddie years combined
- Our quickness and ability to play man defense is much improved - Nigel, Mike and Corey really have a lot of quickness to them
The only 'negatives' (or more accurately room for improvement)
- Scoring needs improvement, but I suspect that will come with more games
- closing out on the 3pt threats - we have been somewhat lucky, I believe, that the teams are not great shooters. Doubt that will be the case with BIG schedule or Miami game upcoming.
Having said all of that, I am 100% CONFIDENT in Pikiell to right those areas.
Looking forward to the rest of this 'ride'!!
