Oden Redshirt Burned

I thought I heard somewhere that Oden's already packed on 15 lbs since his commitment. I can't imagine how much skinnier he was before.

yeah...wow..he seems tiny LOL
Then again so did Teddy Bridgewater
and he could DEF play.......

ODEN could easily become a weapon whereas CL is more like a game mgr of sorts
I am liking Gio too

He wasn't disagreeing with the rule. He was suggesting that if Oden plays more his RS isn't "burnt", he's just a kid who contributed as a true frosh.
Shane Morris @Michigan took his red shirt last year! He graduated in 2013 and played his first year as a freshman in a bowl game!

I have never seen someone with access to a gym and a college cafeteria be that skinny.

When did he come again?Just crazy. One bad hit and he could easily injure himself.

big Picture;
this is a rebuild year..you HAVE to get Oden some snaps. The kid,(along with hopefully Lewis) are the future at QB here at Rutgers.yes Tylin needs to put some Coach Parker Weight and muscle on his frame, but there is no reason not to let him get some game action in blowout games either up,or down. Also earth to everyone else,in college football there is no reason NOT to play two qbs in games if it works. See Texas, see Ohio State.

Tylin will be the one rebuilding when he gets hurt. Especially being a running qb. It is one thing if he was a pocket qb.

Here's a picture of Gary Ward, Jr. right before he made his first start back in 2014:

He really doesn't look too much bigger than TO. Just food for thought.

Gary ward junior was 5 10 and 190. Odin is 6 5 and 185. There is a huge difference there.

Oh well though. My guess is that Ash is willing to gamble so he doesn't lose the verbals of some players. It is a big gamble, though.

his redshirt is burned.

IF he gets injured without playing more than 3 games and applies for a medical redshirt. The NCAA medical redshirt waiver is not guaranteed.
While it isn't guaranteed, the NCAA will almost certainly allow him to redshirt this year because he hasn't redshirted yet if he gets injured before the 4th game and misses the rest of the season. With that said, I expect his redshirt is burned. I hope that indicates they believe he will be ready to step in and play a significant role this season.

Just food for thought...Bridgewater in 2013 was 6 3 and listed at 205. Big difference. Now Tb is listed at 6 3 and 215.

Yes, you have 5 to play 4. The question is, if he does not get 'injured", was it worth using 1 of his 4 years of eligibility.

Shane was given his red shirt after being at Michigan for 2 seasons. And had taken snaps in live games, in both seasons. He will enjoy 5 years on scholarship. Oden's red shirt is still viable I do believe!
