OFFICIAL NET Thread - 2022/23

Dropped to 29. Let's get a W today and move back up a little! NonConf SoS should raise.

everything is very close...look at Iowa, went up a whole bunch I think from 37 to 23 after beating Iowa State...then didnt play and went down to 31 even behind RU who they were ahead of

Auburn suffered their first loss of the season, a home loss to Memphis and fell from 42 to 22

home losses suck..Illinois from 10 to 28. RU needs to avoid them in the next 4.

Some of these conference have some big anchors that are going to affect teams NET when these bad teams beat them, rarely do teams ever goes 0-fer in conference.

It will change once conference play starts in earnest

Louisville has got to be a contender for worst power conference team ever.

EDIT: And Cal. Jesus

So we only dropped to #32 in kenpom. We are #4 in defense and #358 in luck.

I don't think we are going to drop too much from this loss, maybe into the mid 30s or around 40 at worst.

The huge drop maybe has more to do with scoring 43 points at home in the NET. Beat Wake

RU is now #45

Notes:
- Really need Temple and SHU to do well the rest of the way. Right now, those are two Q3/Q4 losses
- Unless Iowa/OSU improve, we have only 1 more Q1 home game left. Going to need to win games on the road

Temple was a bad loss. I know some try to massage the Owls as a good team but they aren't
You keep on saying that and I want to remind you we played without Paul and Caleb. We also had our first horrendous half of the year and never hit a big shot to make the comeback. Yesterday was more concerning as it was a 40 minute shit show with our entire team. So perplexing after playing reasonable well against Miami until the collapse and even so it was tied at 61 late , the dominant Indiana performance and the excellent Ohio State road performance especially the last 25 minutes. We unfortunately are good enough to play with anyone in the country but then play so down when the competition is perceived to be below us. That points to lack of leadership both players and coaches. Everyone takes a hit !

We should still beat Temple, and being shorthanded has no impact on NET.

Temple losing to Penn by 20 says alot and they lost to Wagner. They lost to mediocre Vandy and not very good Richmond.

They beat a down Nova so no one should rally around that game as saying they are good.

its a bad loss period and at best it will be Quad 3

Committee doesn't really care who we did or didn't play with. It's a Q4 loss right now, and Temple has a lot of work to do to get it up to a Q3 loss.

Not true. Committee does take injuries into consideration

Although to be honest MA Lowell has more of a pulse than Temple.

yes but honestly...they likely fall to Q3 when all is said and done given how horrific their conference is. No one is going to be rallying around that win in the committee room if we dont have other ones that dwarf it. 4 schools in their league plus 300 net

Yeah I'm not saying it's a great win or anything. Just that depending on what the cutoff for "has a pulse" is either they should count or Temple shouldn't.

So they say. I wouldn't count on being bailed out b/c of injuries or bad calls.
No one is saying we will be counting on being bailed out. Plenty of wins in front of us . Hard to get that shit show last night erased from my mind but the reason being robbed by the refs hurt so bad at Ohio State is that we would have been 2-0 with a Quad 1 home and a Quad 1 road win and we would have beaten 2 ranked teams back to back. If we didn’t shot the bed last night we likely would have been ranked or getting votes as the 26-30th ranked team. We still got 2 coaches votes today after having 7 last week
I have seen a number of teams at the so called top of the BIg 10 and no one scares me and if we would have been 2-0 , I would have liked our chances to battle down to the wire for the title. Yesterday obviously lowered that thought process a bit.

Rutgers slips a spot to 47

UMass Lowell down to 73 after a 2 point loss at Rhode Island
This is why the Net is a joke. Rhode Island who plays in the competitive A-10 was 282 before that game last night with UMASS Lowell. Among their losses as they are now 4-7 with a 1 point loss to Brown , a 4 point loss to BC , a 3 point loss to Tulane , a 4 point loss to Texas State and a 5 point loss to Quinnipiac and only 14 point loss to a good Providence team and a 20 point loss to a good Kansas State team. They should be nowhere close to 282 pregame. UMASS Lowell , which was 55 before the game and playing their 4 th game in 8 days and coming off road wins at UMASS , and despite leading for 30plus minutes had to go to overtime on the road and ran out of gas and lost in last second by 2. Because Rhode Island was improperly seeded at 282, UMASS Lowell takes an 18 point hit for an OT road loss which should never happen. Because Rhode Island plays low scoring games and struggles to score their efficiency takes a hit but they are not the 282 team out of 363. Plus they only went up 10 to 272 when UMASS Lowell was 55. Kenpom has them at 199 which makes more sense.

"Improperly seeded"? They were what their record said. Kenpom still has a bit of last season baked in.

Rhode Island's record right now (272 in NET)
41 - Kansas St (L by 10+)
73 - UMass-Lowell (W by 2)
100 - Providence (L by 10+)
111 - Quinnipiac (L by 5)
134 - Tulane (L by 3)
215 - Texas St (L by 4)
216 - Brown (L by 1)
236 - Illinois St (W by 10+)
239 - @Boston College (L by 4)
297 - Army (W by 10+)
348 - Stony Brook (W by 10+)

UMass-Lowell was their first win over a team in the top 65% of teams. They lost to Brown and Texas St at home.

Why did we go from 47 to 44 today without any of our teams playing? Any ideas?

43 Auburn dropped to 49... possibly due to an only 8 pt home win over then-299 Georgia St
44 Wisconsin dropped to 46... possibly because Wake (who they lost to) dropped from 88 to 98 after they squeaked by over then-254 App St?

Not sure why we leapfrogged Colorado. Maybe because SHU annihilated Drexel and moved from 90 to 84?
