Just saw lunardi's board.

" B1G best conference"
"B1G will get 10 teams" ( early season)

Joe's board has ACC with 9, SEC with 8, B12 with 8, and the B1G with 8.

How is this 20 game season helping and that reflective of the best conference? Teams like the 3 below are blowing it up.

3 teams like Ilinois, PSU , and Rutgers which imho would kick some butt right now not even in post season.

Strict numbers are 1 thing. This selection gonna be fair and best for teams deserving?

B1G deepest by far. ACC is loaded though with three possible National Champs in Duke, UVA and UNC.

not seeing what the problem is

Big 10 will get 8, they only deserve 8...look at the records..if Indiana wins their last 3,Big 10 could get 9

sorry but under 500 schools like Illinois and Penn State are not NCAA tourney schools

Bac...you really think an under .500 in confrence play like Minnesota or possible even Ohio state get in this year just because the computers like the big ten THAT much

I mean ...for haha ...suppose Rutgers wins it’s last three...and then gets 3 wins in the confrence tournament as the 8 seed (let’s say it beats Minnesota, Michigan state, and Maryland) and loses a close game to Purdue in the finals

Does 19-15 Rutgers get a NCAA bid ...who would have won 7 of its last 8 confrence games (with only two of them at home)?

Before you say no ...we will be 12-12 in big ten play and 13-14 in power confrence games ...and I bet our net rankings climb to around 50.

I’m really curious ...and I’m not saying this is going to happen at all

I’m just curious at what point does the computers rankings get put aside and the eyeball test apply to be a reality check ...

RU's NET is currently 104. its not improving to 50

first of all the scenerio is far fetched..not happening, so not even getting into that. RU wouldnt go..their non conference sos would torpedo them as well as the loss to Fordham

Minnesota is getting in not because they pass any eyeball test, its because the bubble is really weak. Minny has an okay resume but the NET at 60 is actually 12th in league. They won at Wisconsin, beat Iowa at home and beat Washington. The rest of their wins including their Big 10s are mainly Q2s and 3s and nothing to write home about. In normal bubble years they would be sweating it out big time

the Big 10 actually is the 2nd rated conference not first, that is the Big 12 which will send a currently 5-10 Oklahoma..probably 7-11 and a 14 or 15 loss Texas to the tourney

I strongly believe adding more conference games in basketball and football hurts the league much more than helps.

This scenario, as unlikely as it is, would spell N-I-T for RU.

I agree

20 games does NOTHING to help the B1G get more more teams in the tournament.

I just found out today the women still only play 18.

Only 1 reason they went to 20...

So ....bac

I know it ain’t happening for RU....just give me your opinion

Does a 19-15 big ten team that ends up with

-number 50 in the net rankings
-5 quad one and 8 quad two wins
-12-12 in the big ten
-7 of its last 8 in the big ten (only 2 at home)
-13-14 against power five teams
-marque wins in March over Michigan state and Maryland on a neutral court

Get an at large big to the NCAA this year

Most years that’s still NIT

I’m just curious for this year

Because I think that team gets a bid if happens

no sir, not suggesting those two deserve to get in. My point was 3 teams (them and us) are No Tourney Bound and taking wins from teams that otherwise could get in. That's how good this league is. But you're "No Under 500 comment" is making my point. If its not all about Quad wins, SOS, etc and record matters too as a "disqualify-er" than 2 less league games could certainly mean two more wins/less losses for one of those bubble schools.

When did the B12 become best? Was all the B1G best just early season local (like BTN) hype I bought into? ESPN probably says ACC is best too.

I guess for number teams in would have been better in 4 teams at bottom really sucked. I guess we'll see when the seedings come out. Maybe that is better indicator than number of teams?
